Testing to start soon??

You would think that now both Holden and Ford have signed off on the aero package that some of the teams will begin to test there new cars. ie HRT and SBR. They seem to be to the closest to having completing there new cars. Also going on what Paul Morris said, he should have his car completed in about a week, depends on whether the aero package will get there by then. What I can't understand is why Holden and Ford didn't build BA and VY racecars at the same time during last season and do the tests then, that way the aero package would have been signed off ages ago and we wouldn't be in this situation that we are in at the moment,ie there is going to be a shortage of aero packages available in time. Ford went and built it's proto-type, why didn't Holden do the same.

Its called politics, my bet is the vy aero package changed somewhat when they say the rear wing of the ford.

Well hasn't the Ford's rear wing been clipped already. What i'm wondering about is whether Holdens front undertray has been reduced to even out the balance at front of cars.

I am a Holden fan and I to wonder why the Holdens haven't had there front spoiler clipped, maybe we shall find out in Motorsport News tommorrow. They should make the exact details of the test to go public, that way nowone can complain(wishful thinking I know). Did Ford say how much they had to clip off the rear wing? Seeing both sides have signed off on it maybe the Holdens have had deductions and we don't know about them then yet.

So happy they are still testing an alternative.Rumour has it that there is a gain to be made in the radiator ducting area that generates coast down downforce so that will no doubt be the area they concerntrate on to try to match Holdens better figures in that area.

Probally just stood the radiator up and fitted one with less fins to allow the air to flow through and "lift " the front of the car to give the impression of less down force. They should have sealed the radiator and noted it's position including all ducting and made it the final spec.If they boiled bad luck.
To loose 20kg of downforce with out changing a thing is very suspect in anyones book

Has anyone bought this weeks Motorsport News. It said that HRT were running again at Avalon Airport without permission from TEGA. You would think that they would have permission but they way things are I wouldn't put it past them. This Project Blueprint is becoming fasical. You would think with all the millions of $ spent they could get this right. This is truely is a Silly Silly Season.

Yes but were HRT/HRO actually running cars or doing something else like measuring track surface temps and wind patterns/cross winds so that next test, they have more data at start up time. Getting a handle on these variables and what to expect on any given day at Avalon could be what they were doing. Who knows at this stage.

Got the info from a friend who went to the qld Xr meeting the other night that had about 10 v8 drivers, team owners etc there. SBR will be testing a least one BA (I think it will be Ambrose's car) don't know about other teams but would imagine that DJR will also have a BA.

In all seriousness, if the allegations are provern to be correct. I hope they romano them by deducting 1800 points from all cars involved prior to the season , that will give the other 30 odd cars a chance to win the championship

As i've said before i'm a Holden fan but i too want to see good racing. If this aero packages doesn t work this time i think you'll see a very rapid change in the package. AVESCO and CAMS could not afford to let it go on any longer or there will be no one watching them.

Oh well, I liked it anyway.

About HRT running at Avalon; I just don't see them doing something that they obviously shouldn't be doing without some sort of permission. They just have too much to lose by getting caught doing something illegal.

I don't care how good their PR department is, but out-and-out cheating is pretty hard to spin in a positive manner...
