CoT - Does it look good?
Lots of people have been 'complaining' about the looks of the car, what do you think?
48 Johnson Impala SS The look like toy cars to me.... Last edited by nickyf1; 31 Dec 2006 at 22:43. |

Rear wing looks too much like a "drift racer" job.
Other than that, it looks OK. Just different to what we're used to. To some, different is bad. To others it's better. Rob. |

NASCAR should not have this look.
It'll be like watching a bumper issue of Max Power. |

haha I don't like the V8 Supercar look
It looks better than the first unpainted ones, but still not as good as the current car, the current car looks alot smoother, while the CoT is really boxy. However if it improves racing (especially on the 1.5mi ovals) then I'll be ok with it. |

Doesnt look that bad to me but would still prefer the other models, but if it brings better and more exciting racing then id be fine with it.

it looks ok it just doesnt look nascar. i can see them (nascar) throwing that wing away and reverting back to the old style. i really dont see how it will help their cause

I like it, think it looks more like a "modern proper racecar".

At least it has some reasonable size to it, unlike the BTCC wings which must do next to nothing!
Prefer the old style spoiler, it is just 'the' nascar shape/image to me. |

I stand by my comments though - cruddy rear wing, but we'll get used to it. I don't think there will be much of a choice in that matter! Rob. |

the rear wing doesn't bug me- it might as well be more Oz V8 style that this little pep boys special.
te cars in livery do not look as boxy as the test cars and the Impala has shown to be the best suited. I like the raised bumper for what it is supposed to do, but why hava splitter? why not keep the current car shaped with a new raised nose? more of a wall instead of the angled aero face they have had? and why not drop the rear bumper valence, lower as well and keep the spoiler? the Craftsman trucks have no trouble racing and the speed are good- why not emulate more of what they have? |

I dunno, the rear bumper is pretty high still, I don't think the splitter would touch anything if a car bump drafts someone.
I think it was done (the spoiler + splitter) because the CoT was developed because of safety (apparantly), but since they were doing that, it would be the easiest time to change the look of the car, rather than after using the same body (I'm not sure how this works, since the body is sheetmetal on a chassis, rather than a monocoque) |

The Mondeo ('World car') was supposed to be sold as-is all over the globe. So they go clever and call it a Contour in the 'States. Great Marketing idea, calling it "The world car". Then there's the Focus... "Look" said Ford, "we've got a global model" (again!), "it's the Focus". However, the American Focus was longer and wider than the European model, having a different floorpan again, and was therefore a different car. The Fusion that Ford sell in the US, is a "Mid-size" car (Like a Vauxhall/Opel/Holden Vectra) - the Fusion they sell in Europe is a pumped up/jacked up Fiesta - a sort of "Mini SUV" They seem to have no idea about brand identity in Detroit. The same goes for Chevy with the Daewoo based Lacetti/Optra/Nubira/Viva/Excelle/SRV/Forenza/Reno (depending on whether it's got a Chevy/Daewoo/Suzuki/or Buick badge on the front. Though, at least they are all the same car. They should take a leaf out of Toyota's book. Sell three or four totally different cars as one model - the Corolla - then you can have the world's best selling car in your stable!! Marketing men. Pah! |
