I just can't see this happening. The WRC has too many tarmac rounds as it is. Far better to try and go somewhere like the States or Japan where the new strength of WRC can be really exploited.
If it does happen though it will mean a huge boost for rallying overe there. Let's hope it is not just tabloid journalism whih let's face it Autosport is pretty good at |

I meant to put Ireland WANTS an WRC event in 2007, not that it has one.

Unfortunately I can't see it either, unless it replaces the Network Q (highly unlikely).
As you say chunder there's already too many tarmac rounds (note Portugal gravel/mud replaced by Germany asphalt), and I think that wrongly Ireland would be regarded as part of the UK. Hence unless Rally GB goes ......... |

I do think that there is some sort of theory here regarding the state of the cars.
on tarmac the cars never get dirty, hence the sponsors logos never get tarnished. Conspiracy theory? You tell me, but there are more tarmac rounds than ever before. And they are more angerous, especially Corsica |

Hmm, you may have something there, either that or the FIA are trying to cut down global pollution by eliminating the need for car wash detergents.

Can you imagine Pannizzi over Moll's Gap. No, I can't either unless he moves to Killarney. Awesome stage.
Ireland would be good from the point of view that the population is relatively low and there would not be the traffic problems. No problem finding good stages there at all. |
