May I also add that the "Instructions & Flow Chart" that have been posted to members are excellent.
The flow chart makes it virtually impossible for anyone to pick the wrong training session based upon their current grade.

Well done & thanks to Andy Holley (Regional training guru).

Important - Date Change

Hi Guys,

Very unfortunately, we have had to shift the dates of the NW marshals training.

The circuit have taken a booking from a car manufacturer who want sole use of the circuit on the Sunday, and since the circuit will receive a sizeable fee from them for this, we have had to move. Please don't whinge about the circuit, or JP; it's business. We get to use the facilities free of charge.

Therefore, the news dates are ONE WEEK EARLIER:

Saturday 4 Feb - Observers, Flags

Sunday 5 Feb - New Marshals, Incident, Course, Specialist, IO

All those who have already sent in volunteering forms, I will just assume that you will attend on the new dates, so only contact me if you now cannot make it.

Please would you try to spread the word as much as possible. I will be writing to everyone who has volunteered to let them know of the date change, but not for a couple of weeks, in order to let the dust settle a bit.

Any immediate problems, pse PM me or (preferably) drop me a line to: bmmcnorthtrng@tesco.net

Keep smiling....

Andy, thanks for the date change as I have now earned some brownie points with being able to take my wife away for her birthday.

I'm still attending for both new days as per the letter that I sent this morning.

Drop me an e-mail or phone me when you know what you want me to do for the trainee marshals sessions.

It's worked the other way for me with the date change - now Dave won't be able to go out for his birthday meal.

It could be just me but can someone point me in the direction of this flowchart for the Oulton Training as could have sworn I'd found it on the brsccnw website but I can't find it now. The downloaded pdf on 'marshal.org.uk' doesn't include it either but from the form it's self I'm guessing it's going to be either 6A or 6G. Can anyone help ?

There's a link to the flow chart on the Marshals page of the BRSCC NW web site. Unfortunately at the moment when you click on the link it comes up with that annoying "Page can not be found" message - the same happens for the volunteering page.

I'm having trouble emailing Flying Muppet - keeps bouncing back! Also having printer problems so can't print off the form!

Andy, if you see this - I WILL be at the Observers session and Mrs Mitch (Lisa) wants to come to the Specialist session please?

Finally sent the form off at the start of the week, but it may be too late to get instructions back. Could someone advise me what time I should sign on for flag training? (Thought it was about time I got the grade. It's only about 5 years since I lost my completed card!)

Thanks.

Thanks folks, see you all there. This is of course the bit where I remember that top of my list of things I don't like is being somewhere for 8:15! Don't worry if I don't speak first thing, I'm probably trying to remember who I am, never mind who you are!

It did indeed. Quite fun doing basic flag training after all these years (I lost me card...) and much credit to Gordon Kinight who ran the sessions and was very entertaining and informative. As said above, a big thanks to everyone for their efforts - it was an excellent and enjoyable day.

Got the bug to get going now. It's how long to the first event???

Or Mallory 12/3/06.

Thank you Andy and team for all your hardwork and you even put in a special session just for me - loads of pictures of helicopters but the real one flew away before I got chance to have a look round it.

He, he. Anglesey - probably not. It's a long way when you're starting from here.

Mallory - probably not! I'll almost certainly be there for that one, but it's the one cirucit I'm not keen on flagging at. Apart from the fact that there isn't a quiet post for incident and it's a circuit you can actually do something useful on, it's not a place at which I'm comfortable turning away from the oncoming traffic.

Oulton - very probably. I haven't planned my season yet, but it looks like I'll be heading that way a little more this year. In fact, it was only while talking to Gordon that I worked out I've only ever done about 4 2-day meetings there. It's about time I put that right.
