Anglesey, 10th & 11th of August
Any other Ten-tenthers going to be there??
Once again, the Ginettas, Kumho BMWs, Europa, Kumho TVR Tasmins, plus the 2CVs and Caterham Graduates will be there.. All things being good, I will definitely be in the Ginetta race, a 30 minute one, and also the Europa's (D/Header)!! so a busy weekend. I'll probably have a truckload of spare tickets as I'm entered into two championships. So PM me if you are interested in some freebie tickets, once I've got them!! Cool!
I'm also interested in seeing the Deux Chevaux's.. Read the article about them in their 24hr race and was quite tempted to make some enquiries... Saw them race a couple of years ago at Cadwell - big grid! Looked like excellent fun. EPS |

And Ginettag27 and the two marshals who will be in their respective races. I'm just sorry we can't make Saturday but we've got lots of Bemsee friends (marshals and competitors) to see plus the usual Cheshire crowd. |

DON'T stay in the Maelog Hotel!!!!!!!! (ask PaulPerkins for details......!)
There's lots of very nice B&Bs around Anglesey though. You can find a list of some of them here: http://www.tracksense.co.uk/anglesey.htm |

I dunno - I think maybe Fawlty Peaks? Or Twin Towers?
It's definitely a cross between the Fawlty Towers and Twin Peaks - with a little bit of "league of gentlemen - the local shop" thrown in just for extra heebies! |

You guys are a little out of date on Maelog me thinks....since the new management took over it's been bareable and he's very frienly to marshalls. You can camp out back for free, use the shower and loo and he'll chuck in a breakfast for a very reasonable price too. Since David took over it's much better so I'm told. This guy actually gives a monkeys. He will happily collect marshalls from the circuit to come down for an evening meal and drink and then drop them back at the circuit again....all you have to do is ring him. Can't imagine why your put out by the maelog....v.friendly bunch. I've got the pictures to prove it somewhere....those of you on the couch with the barmaids at the Legends meeting know who you are........Also I hear it's ronnies birthday, seventy something, over 50 years of marshalling under his belt......turn up and buy him a drink, I don't know many who marshalled fangio and moss and are still at it now.....and I can't believe he matched me pint for pint

Hi Solem,
Bearable, yes; friendly to marshals, definitely - top chap, couldn't be faulted. It's just a shame the rooms stink of chip fat, none of the furniture actually matches anything else, and you have to trudge across the hall past 5 other rooms to get to the bathroom with a lock that slices the end of your finger off each time you use it Plus the beds are a foot too short, and the room door locks don't work... Oh, and you can hear the next door neighbour's every move Not to mention the generator/macerator (couldn't quite work it out) that shudders you awake every half an hour. And then there's the 'log room'... The closest thing to it is the Steakhouse (or whatever it's called) on the main street in Staines (just up from the Litten Tree). But to be serious, there is nothing *wrong* with the place per-se if you want a place to crash at the end of the day. I'd imagine that the bar can get quite 'lively' as you say It's just that I expect a little more for my money nowadays (like a bog in the room, a telly and a phone) - particularly as you can get a Travellodge type thingy for not *that* much more per night. Am I Mr. Picky? Probably |

Yep sounds to be a fair assesment of the rooms...appart from locks that don't work...and...not being ensuite...and being able to hear the geny.....and....oh who care's .... you know what they say - you make your own entertainment....and their was plenty when we where there:P
Sorry you didn't enjoy your stay like we did. But at £15 pp/pn you are Mr Picky.... short answer - you didn't drink enough if you got woken up in the night |

sorry not this time round, as I'm doing an impression of a hermit at the moment...the camera has cobwebs and the octane levels in my blood have dropped to worryingly low levels....and thanks for noticing the lack of an N in the Solemn of SolemnHill.......there's always one......and it would appear to be me.......Doh!

I hope I get to see Ginetta racing and that he's not a Saturday racer - we won't be there until Sunday.
Don't forget to support all the marshals who will be competing this weekend in their respective races. |
