SJ Spode should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
San Remo latest

After SS4

1. S LOEB 58:51.4
2. M MÄRTIN +21.5
3. M GRÖNHOLM +28.7
4. F DUVAL +34.8
5. G PANIZZI +41.6
6. C SAINZ +52.3
7. C MCRAE +56.3
8. P SOLBERG +1:09.4
9. P BUGALSKI +1:36.3
10. R BURNS +1:44.5

If things stay the same by rally end, I reckon Loeb will be equal first with Burns at the head of the Championship (& with two more tarmac rounds to come who would bet against Seb)

What has happened to Panizzi? The former Tarmac King is only shadow from himself these days.

Its strange, that. Panizzi's strongest performances this year so far seem to have been in rallies like Turkey and Greece - gravel rallies.

Panizzi should be much faster than he was today!
Very disapointing to see!

After SS7 and first Saturday stage:
1 S LOEB 0.0
2 M MÄRTIN +1:01.7
3 M GRÖNHOLM +1:06.2
4 C SAINZ +1:37.5
5 F DUVAL +1:48.1
6 G PANIZZI +1:51.3

8 P BUGALSKI +3:32.8
9 T MÄKINEN +4:00.4

Results after SS10/14
-----------------------------------
1 Loeb Citroën 3h07:00.7
2 Märtin Ford 0:30 + 0:43.2
3 Grönholm Peugeot + 1:10.5
4 Sainz Citroën + 1:42.3
5 Panizzi Peugeot + 1:59.1
6 Duval Ford + 2:23.8
7 McRae Citroën + 3:07.3
8 Bugalski Citroën + 4:06.6
9 Burns Peugeot + 5:12.1
10 Robert Peugeot + 5:15.6
11 Mäkinen Subaru + 5:39.2
12 Kresta Peugeot + 8:11.8
13 Auriol Skoda + 9:16.3
-----------------------------------

Junior WRC after SS10/14
-----------------------------------
1 Baldacci Fiat 3h28:37.9
2 Meeke Opel + 2:09.0
3 Iliev Peugeot + 5:37.8
4 Teuronen Suzuki + 5:40.1
5 Canellas Suzuki + 5:42.8

Without the 30 sec penalty Märtin could be only 13.2 sec behind Loeb. But still: Loeb 1st and Märtin second and Burns only on 9th, the battle for championship is getting tighter again.

So if they finished in current order (after stage 10), the championship would look like this (points before San Remo in brackets):

1 LOEB 55 (45)
2 BURNS 55 (55)
3 SAINZ 53 (48)
4 SOLBERG 48 (48)
5 MÄRTIN 45 (37)
6 GRÖNHOLM 44 (38)

Looking ahead, Loeb should be strong on the two remaining tarmac events and I expect Sainz should go well too, with a likely a podium (or win?) in Catalunya. Burns may need a very strong result (a win?) in Rally GB to remain in the fight, if it's not too late by then.

Could we see a Citroën 1-2 in the championship and a Citroën win in the manufacturers championship too?

Wouldn't bet against it because Richard Burns is really useless this weekend and I don't suspect it will get any better for him!

I can't believe it.... Gronholm out (lost a wheel), Panizzi up to second and Burns still leads the chamionship.

Gilles Panizzi selected intermediate tyres for SS13 rather than slicks (well if you can call them slicks, they still have something resembling tread), chosen by most of the others.

http://rally.racing-live.com/en/head...05134702.shtml

Provisional results after S14 (final stage) now:

1 Loeb Citroën
2 Panizzi Peugeot
3 Märtin Ford
4 Sainz Citroën
5 Duval Ford
6 Mcrae Citroën
7 Burns Peugeot
8 Bugalski Citroën

Drivers points after San Remo:

1 Burns 57
2 Loeb 55
3 Sainz 53
4 Solberg 48
5 Märtin 43
6 Grönholm 38

Yes, after yet another disapointing performance, Burns still leads

Well my pre-season prediction of Loeb winning the title is looking good. Two tarmac rallies left!

Why does Gronholm have such apalling seasons when defending his crown. And look! Burns is still flukily leading! This is so like the 2001 season it's unreal!

Grönholm almost said it was past it's best, in a TV interview during day two. He was slightly more diplomatic than that, but suggested that while it was still competitive on gravel, others (mainly the Xrara and the Focus) were quicker on tarmac.

Sadly, it appears that Grönholm's championship hopes are now over. I think the gap is just too big now.

you were not the only one ..
he is World Champion in 2003 . in my view .. he has at least 80% to win it .. it's gonna be him or Sainz ...

It looks like the weather played its part in events. Lets hope Richard can keep on picking up points on the next 2 rounds and clinch the championship with a win on the RAC (or what ever it called these days)

At least Panizzi got some decent points today after a good tyre choice.

Burns has still never won a rally for Peugeot (will he ever????) and leads the championship, something is wrong with the points system.

Look at it this way - if Loeb wins next time out (which I reckon he will...) and Burns still finishes second then Loeb will be the WRC leader due to him having more wins.

I really can't see what half the problem is with Burns - I suppose we can see if it is the car like he says when he gets back in a Scooby next year..
