Itaipava GT Brasil will have a technical and sports comission in 2011

The old saying goes that "two heads are better than one". Three, then, no need to comment. Especially when it comes to people who understand it much. On this season, the teams and drivers of the Itaipava GT Brasil will have available a comission formed by three experts from different areas to analyze the technical and sports issues of the "dream cars championship": the GT Comission.

The comission will be formed by former Formula 1 driver Wilson Fittipaldi, Jr., the Itaipava GT Brasil technical manager Ivo Sznelwar, and the comission president Clóvis Matsumoto, from the Brazilian Motorsports Confederation. The comission will have its own rulebook, approved by the Brazilian Motorsports Confederation, guaranteeing autonomy and flexibility in decisions regarding the championship.

"The commission was created to examine claims of teams and drivers, with significant immediate decision on some key issues. We'll receive the claims and analyze together to decide the better for the championship, on the more thoughtful way possible, without authoritarianism", comment the Itaipava GT Brasil technical manager, Ivo Sznelwar. The comission, formed on this month (February), will be in action even before the first round.

PERFORMANCE BALANCING

Together with the announcement of the GT Comission, the championship confirmed two days for the preseason testing, for the Performance Balancing. The testing session will be at Interlagos in March 16-17. During the tests, all cars will be examined by the official test drivers (not announced yet).

BMG Racing confirms Valdeno Brito and Matheus Stumpf for the 2011 season

It's possible to say that BMG Racing did a perfect season in 2010. Won the Teams Championship and also the GT3 Drivers Championship. There was no reason to change the recipe for the 2011 season. And don't changed: the team confirmed on this week that will stay with the defending champions, Valdeno Brito and Matheus Stumpf, and they also renewed contract with the other two drivers, Juliano Moro and Paulo Bonifácio.

Both duos will once again driving the Ford GT. "I think that Valdeno and Matheus had an outstanding performance last year, today we have a very close-knit team and we chose to keep all members, including the other duo with Bonifácio and Juliano. Of course, we are bringing young professionals to this team, but we made sure to keep the structure that proved successful", said team principal Antonio Hermann.

On the last season, Valdeno Brito and Matheus Stumpf won more races than any other duo: a total of five. Achieved the podium in almost all races that thay finished and won the title with one round remaining. All with a car that does not always began the weekend as the fastest, but certainly proved to be one of the most reliable - were only two DNFs throughout the year.

"It was a breakout year, the connectedness of the whole team was excellent and I am very happy for the opportunity to continue racing at BMG, especially maintaining partnership with Matheus. We managed to set up a car that pleases two riding styles and this is a very important differential considering that the championship is becoming increasingly difficult. Repeat the recipe that has worked has always been our talk and now we have this opportunity", says Valdeno Brito.

If they win this year championship, the duo can do the same that was done by Andreas Mattheis/Xandy Negrão (Sr.), the biggest winners in the category, who won both 2007 and 2008 championships. Knowing well the car is a factor that should help in this journey for another title - when the season began last year, BMG was still doing their first races with the Ford GT. "There is no doubt that this experience is positive", said Antonio Hermann.

Hermann also says: "We know the equipment very well and we're opening the season with everything completely revised, engine, gearbox, all brand new, so the car can deliver a performance as good as in 2010". The team already started private preseason testing, preparing for the opening round of the championship, on April 10 at Interlagos.

Jean-Marc Gounon highlights level of GT Itaipava Brazil

The word is from those who know very well the major international competitions of Gran Turismo. Winner of 24 hours of Le Mans in 1997, Frenchman Jean-Marc Gounon, 48 years old, was impressed with the high level of models registered for the season of GT Itaipava Brazil in 2011. The pilot was hired by SRO Auto + and Latin America to the drills Entertainment balance of performance achieved fourth (16) and Thursday (17) on the Interlagos track in Sao Paulo."I can only compare with Europe, as do the Same work there, and Certainly the level of the cars here are very good. DURING These two days of testing, I nudged work with all models and CAN only thank the teams and the Organization That helped Provided me and the car tight. Thus, I Believe We Can Develop a good work Towards a more balanced league, "said Jean-Marc Gounon.

The information provided by him and Brazilian Enrique Bernoldi will now be Analyzed by the GT and then never come to the Brazilian Confederation of Motor Sport. The Data Will Be Key To Setting the Rules for disclosure of the initial balance of performance cars in the GT Itaipava Brazil. Technical director and member of the GT class, Ivo Sznelwar, praised the work of test pilots.

"One thing people do Not Know Is that the test driver has Thurs sit in the car and speed To Be as Fast as Possible. They must do the Same Work is all cars, cloudy draw the line of conduct for all, thus having " the ideal parameter to work ". And the work of Gounon and Bernoldi was fantastic," praised the Technical Director, how the Commission with former GT driver Wilson Fittipaldi and Clovis Matsumoto, CBA.

"In addition to finding that balance between the cars, the pilot has yet to fly them with 60 liters fuel tank, which represents more than half a tank of GT3 and nearly three quarters of GT4. So no time is the classification that concerns us but steady performance that can be attained in a race, to evaluate several parameters such as tire wear, which affects the evidence, "explains Ivo Sznelwar.

The two days of practice served as a pre-season, bringing together many of the subscribers to the GT championship Itaipava Brazil, which begins on April 10, precisely at Interlagos. Now, teams and drivers continue to prepare with the particular tests, while the CBA prepares the rules of balance of performance, which are the basis for an uninterrupted work: Commission assesses the performance of the GT cars constantly to ensure the competitiveness of the category.

Funny that the teams are TBC more than the cars and drivers! Still looks like a great grid for a GT3 series so far from the European centre of the category. A little surprised nobody is running a Porsche though; no Brazilian Porsche dealers interested in a little promotion?

Does anyone know if the A. Mattheis Motorsport entry of the #9 Audi R8 LMS is confirmed? Are they going to use the R8 LMS or their Ford GT? Also are they going to run the R8 LMS in the Brazilian Endurance Championship like last year?, and does the Brazilian Endurance Championship have a website?

The entry list only contained drivers and cars. Only a few is known about the teams, and I only added the known ones. There are about 5 Porsches in Brazil, none is entered on this round (the last time a Porsche was seen was in the Interlagos finale last year, and this after a long absence). By now, the #9 Audi will race. I will find the information about the teams and add to the entry list.

Why aren't all-pro lineups allowed?

it would be cool if all Brazilian sports car drivers racing in Europe and the US came to the Anhembi GT race.

It's present on the rules of the championship. Don't know more about it.

By the way, the #13 Corvette (Pedro Queirolo) just won Race 3 at the Anhembi. Race 4 tomorrow at 10:45 LT (13:45 GMT), making the support event to the São Paulo Indy 300.
