Ali Rushforth should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Tin Top Success

Well done CSCC for the first round of the Tin Tops series, it was a great success.

I thought that the racing was great, and my thoughts were backed up by a whole host of fellow drivers.

Keep up the good work.

Roll on june 26!!!!!!!

Great fun!!! We might have qualified at the back but we had an absolute ball on Sunday. Everyone we met seemed to be there for the same reason - the sheer hell of it.
I've already had a call from another driver asking if I'm going back for more on June 26th - the answer being a definate YES!!!

Many thanks to all of the organisers and competitors for an excellent day.

I had a very enjoyable day out, even the drive home was enriched by waves from fellow competitors who I have hardly met as we passed on the M1 and I have not seen so many MG Maestro in the same place for a number of years. Enjoyed it so much I have already sent off my entry for the next round at Mallory to see if I can beat Stuart05 (driving 06) when he has sorted his electrical problems.

Glad you got to qualify!! Been working on my mini (and van) for weeks, get to circuit saturday night (best make a weekend of it when babysitter offers for weekend!!), set everything up, go out to qualify and don't make it out of the collecting area, damn fuel pump stops working!!!

Anyhow, find a solution and then grovel to the CotC to please please let me race (lucky I've raced at mallory within the last 12 months). Start dead last, but what a crack!!!

Not bad for a standard 1.3i mini!!!

Also, met some very nice people over the weekend.

Entry already sent for the next round!!!

Regards

My entry went off today. Not sure I'll be able to keep up with you "Penelope", even with the... ahem... "electrical" problem sorted but I'll have a damned good try!

Just got to work out how to leave a family wedding early on the Saturday to travel up!!! Can't race without the traditional evening before track-walk and "soft" drink...

Make sure it is a walk round and not a ride on a quad bike, one of our drivers in the Modprods did that one year just as dusk fell and he had his little girl on the back, anyhow they strung a big cable across the track presumable to stop this but old Terry (RiP mate) did not see this and it nearly took his head off. He survived this one but died a little later from an unrelated accident at work.

Is this meeting for the V8 engined cars as well or is it just for the tiddlers. Can I race my Camaro on Hooisier Street T/A's a moulded treaded tyre (no longer listed in Blue book) or does it have to be a Blue Book listed tyre?

TinTops is for under 2ltr cars but there is the Sports vs Saloon Challenge which at the next Mallory the regs state there is a class for " Over 3000cc" amd at Cadwell the regs say there is a "V8" class in both cases cars must use moulded treaded tyres. Hope that helps, check out the specific V8 regs on www.classicsportscarclub.co.uk
