2014 German Grand Prix
If you want good value GP tickets for the German GP nows the time to go for it.
As a marketing idea by the organisers where an offer of an €11 discount for every goal scored by Germany in the semi final V's Brazil. Bet that won't help the bottom line. |

I see where there have been only about 55,000 tickets sold for the German GP. Seems a small crowd for a country of 80 million people where the leader of both championships is from Germany. As well as that we have a good fight for the drivers championship.

to me, the tickets are overpriced. the basics in germany are considerably cheaper than in the uk - rent for example in a standard town is more than half the price and all inclusive. i had a look at tickets, there's a massive range of pricing options and the well priced good value ones in the stadium section i'd consider paying out for (180€-ish for 3 days) are all gone. perhaps that tells them and f1 something about the pricing?
on that basis, i'm not surprised they're struggling. they all probably went to austria instead. the crowds for the (completely free) world series by renault event at the nurburgring were pretty miniscule too - if it wasn't for the local renault enthusiasts barely anyone bothered going. like you say, it's a bit strange. |

If that's the case, maybe Bernie and Co should look at axing the German GP? 80M+ population and only a total of 55K attendees?? Dreadful. Germany has the most number of drivers on the grid, and a Mercedes and a German born are leading the championship! Compare those figures to round one in Australia, with a population of just over 22M, and just one driver on the grid had 63K+ on the Thursday alone, and almost 315K over the race weekend. |

But: In Australia nobody knew what was going to happen The Germans know that they are going to see. Guaranteed Mercedes winner, one car will lead off the start and win an economy run. "180€-ish for 3 days" - Cheapest package, you have just got to be kidding!? Where's the excitement??!!!? |

That the official attendance figures for the 2014 Australian F1 GP released by the Australian Grand Prix Corporation.
For 2013 the total attendance figures for the weekend was over 323,000. So in fact the figures were down from last year. |

From this: The GP corporation’s attendance and underlying patronage figures grossly exceed the audited income in their accounts. The evidence is the plummeting ticket sales revenue and sponsorship dollars. The AGPC’s 2011 audited accounts had a sales figure that, when divided by the number of grandstand and corporate seats and prices and the remainder general admission, reveals fewer than 60,000 ticket buying patrons, yet the AGPC claimed 111,000 (of those 60,000!) attended on race day and 298,000 over the four days – totally impossible, given the evidence. The event telecast also supports this. It was a similar story in 2012 and 2013. SAP estimates the AGPC adds more than 100,000 phantom attendees annually. From this which is worth a read: http://www.google.com.au/url?sa=t&rc...8RGjeRx9fenMAg |

I went to Melbourne in 2013, and I can tell you it was difficult to buy tickets. We bought them in February (quite late) and many of the stands were sold out. We still managed to get seats I considered to be extremely good, and it was a great weekend. For the Sunday at least, I couldn't see an empty seat in any of the stands around us.
I think there is probably a little bit of politicking around arguing the figures - I can't really see why people would need to down play attendance, but I really do think there were a hell of a lot of people there, and very little free space. Albert Park could barely cope with what was there. Sure maybe the tickets were sold at discounted rates, or some may have been given away?? I can't really imagine that. I guess there would have been a lot of marshalls and officials. I don't really know why the figures don't add up, but simply looking at the income and stating there couldn't possibly have been that many people there isn't a valid argument. |

Maybe not.
http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/formula1/28344335 Not a surprising action from an organisation that awarded the 2022 World Cup to a barren desert state for no apparent reason other than who had the biggest bribe package. Bernie should work for them. |

Should just have four small stars. Cool design overall though.
Here's hoping for a 1:2 replica. |

sad commercial reality indeed!
odd part though is i wonder which sponsor would be unhappy. Coca Cola have reportedly been looking to buy the Monster Energy Drink brand for some time now. anyways they should have let it go. the picture is already out there, the 'damage' if any to sponsors already done and the image will now live forever on the interwebs and those on social media are using this as a further example of FIFA's love of money over love of sport. i would love to see a round table discussion with BE and the Fifa president (Blather?)about their views about how the world works. i suspect equal mix of hilarity, insanity, and to be fair brilliance. |

This would be 100% Fifa enforcing this advertising ban Chilli, nothing whatsoever to do with the actual sponsors, though on their behalf of course! i.e. You don't pay Fifa money you don't get to use their cup logo!

It is understood that the call for Rosberg to remove the image was prompted by Hyundai. FIFA reacted after the complaint was made.
So enough with the crapping on about FIFA already! |

Looks like the team that brought FRIC to F1 are not going to well after removing it. The cars are all over the track! Mostly outside the limits of it.

How appropriate. Two of the biggest, most egotistical, money grabbing sports in a legal dispute over something trivial. Why am I not surprised...?
Team willy look to be struggling. Are they going to be the biggest casualty of the FRIC ban? |

So Mercs only potential threat to a GP victory without a colossal car failure has now been affected by another decision by the FIA?
This entire thread has been ranting at people. So... ...is the double-points-in-Abu-Dhabi-because-casual-TV-viewers-mean-everything-not-genuine-fans rule going to go, or will Nico Rosberg have to hire an assassin to secure the WDC? |
