GTO to JGTC?
In this month's Automobile magazine, there was a brief little snippet in an article about the JGTC that said there could possibly be a JGTC-spec Pontiac GTO when the series comes to California in December. Has anyone heard anymore of this, or is this just purely fantasy?

Two years ago, I would have said your out of your frickin' mind. But, GM has commited to factory backed programs in SWC, GA, GTCC, AV8SC, and ALMS/Le Mans, so why not? Could they be staging a world wide cue of production based road racing? FIA is next! Haha, those guys at P&M must never sleep.

if there is a JGTC Pontiac GTO i would guess it would be a privateer conversion and not a factory effort or the P&M car for that matter.

my guess is it will be run by rhys millens team. they've built drift and rally gto's this year. with some success. this should be one of a few local teams in this years jgtc all-star race at fontana in december. expect the dodge and ford announcements soon

jgtc rules are fairly open and the motor already is on power, if it races in GT300 it'll be more than torquey enough - if they can sort the aero bits in this crazy series

Any chance it could be a Tom Walkinshaw comeback - not TWR, Tom himself. Word in Aussie mag today, that Tom is keen to get back in to V8 Supercars but has been rejected - Toms winning pedigree is pretty good . I'm a Tom fan......... |
