ITV Season Review
Just watched it. The good points were that James Allen wasn;t there, only in voice (which is still bad), and on top of that they had good Driver input. But, they didn;t mention anything on the new teams, the teams that left, or anthing major other than what JB and DC thought of themselves. Not a good review.

I watched it and enjoyed it for the fact it's a bit of F1 in the close season
It was obviously recorded before the Alonso/McLaren news broke and i'm interested in what DC and JB have to say about 2005. Not sure it was a particularly exciting review though They will probably do a 2006 preview which will cover new teams etc. |

DC and JB demonstrate how it is possible to poke something in one ear and then catch it as it comes out the other side.Apparently it worked much better on James Allen.
Wouldn't it be great that if during the long wait for the next race we could entertain ourselves a little with caption competitions.Mods are you listening. |

Talking of Allen, maybe this explains why the program lacked any physical presence by him - read the post below from a member of the ITV F1 production team. Has James got the push? http://forum.digitalspy.co.uk/board/...postcount=3902 |

Any idea if the programme is going to be repeated? I missed it today.

I found it amusing if nothing else.
DC and JB were pretty good value at times. |

The review show was terrible. DC muttering on about how he beat Schumacher fair and square at McLaren, and trying to make Alonso and Raikkonen's achievements seem like very little.
I for one didn't want to hear DC and Jenson Button offering their opinions. The are still drivers, they will not say what they really think. A very poor show. If it's repeated, I would definitely recommend you don;t bother watching it! |

Yes, it was fundamentally garbage and trash talking.
But it was amusing. I for one love to hear DC rant on about how he beat Schuey about one in ten races in an often superior car. I liked his comment aimed at Jenson as well: "At least I know where I'll be driving into the next season!" |

It was quite funny, but I had hoped for a decent review rather than one where DC and Button just moan about everything. Good job I have the review DVD.

I enjoyed it very much. There were some insights into stuff that had gone on through the year. Yes, DC and JB are racing drivers, so you won't get them to admit thay are in awe of anyone, or that anyone is unbeatable. I mean, can you imagine paying someone xx million quid only to hear them say that they can't beat someone?
I've come to admire DC so much more since he left McLaren. Sure, he's no world champ, but he's a good driver and an intelligent one at that with a lot still to offer. And about 60% or more of last years grid are no world champ contenders either, IMO. I did think DC showed himself to be very astute, whereas JB still appears as a lightweight. |

I just hope that DC never gets a job as an analyst for ITV.

For those in North America, Speed channel has scheduled their version this Sunday Formula Jan 8 4:00PM (eastern time). Not sure if it is ITV's version, but I suspect so.

I would liked to have seen more actual race footage from last year, especially some of the overtaking moves and more of the Alonso/Schumacher duel at Imola, instead of the same clip of Alonso crossing the line in Brazil which they showed about 4 times!

By the end of the programme I was fed up of hearing James Allen saying 'WELL DONE, FERNANDO ALONSO!!'. Show it once, but not constantly!
I think the best way to review an F1 season is to show a good deal of action, and get some people that analyse rather than boast about their battles with Schumacher and whinge about the Williams-BAR saga. |

.... or watch the tapes on your own. I'm up to race 4 of '05, which I hope to take in this weekend. The 1st 3 races were entertaining; it's amazing what you forget in such a short time.
