I remember Jackie Stewart with much fondness. He made F1 and Indy racing exciting to watch and listen to on ABC T.V. in the USA back in the 70's and 80's. His race calls(with that great Scottish accent!) with Chris Eckonomackie are legendary, and it brings back great memories.
When he retired, F1 was pretty much done in the states, until the somewhat recent arrival of Speed Channel to North American homes. I'll be watching, and hoping to capture alittle of my youth along the way! Thanks! |

Damn, missed it.
Hey GP, I saw him win the USGP at the Glen in '72. A certain 14 year old in the audience was a dedicated fan. He was simply superb. |

That must have been great EERO! He really did so much for F1, especially in the US. Not only was he a great driver, but a great team owner, business man, and TV commentator. He pretty much singlehandedly popularized F1 in America, and he won't soon be forgotten.
Speed Channel is showing a replay of the show right now I believe! Hurry up and catch it, its worth it! |

EERO, you need to watch or tape it next Saturday.
Typical of Stewart, he give all credit to Tyrell, his mechanic Hall, and a very fitting tribute to Francois Cervert. |

It was, a good show...did anyone else notice what I think was what you'd call a Freudian slip...refering to the era he drove in he said..."I think I lived at the ........
Notice he didn't say drove..he said "lived". Hmmmmmm |

Just to reiterate Ted's post, the DVD/Video is commercially available, and I think it has more material even than the broadcast show.
I got it from Duke, and it's a cracker. |

I'm inclined to think that racers think of racing as living....sorta like the line from Le Mans...Racing is living..everything in between............
