If anyone wants to know, Cosworth racing recently announced that they are going to continue to be an official sponsor of the series. No surprise I guess as most of the field uses DFV's and I imagine part of the deal is discounts on services or spare parts. Nice to see them getting involved though, even if it is probably for their own gain.

They supply the WHOLE field I believe.
If you go to the TGP website you can subscribe to their e-mail newsletter which keeps you fully posted of events, results etc. |

I think (check on teh TGP web site)from what the rules say all cars must run a DFV, from the era they should have. In other words if a car did not runa short stroke in the 70's/80's then they can not run one in the TGP race.
I think thats one of the reasons that why you do not see too many other cars out. It would cost them too much to have the cars converted to the the DFV. |

I am gueesing, but I think (and I hope!) they make exceptions on the cars that were not powered by Ford DFV's...

Well the Ferarri has run in the past but some time ago. I remember them asking it to carry a Ford sticker and the owners refused. Can't say I'm surprised can you?

I'm sure I saw a brm out during the season, but that may of been in FORCE f1 rather than TGP.
I'm sure a DFV in the back of a brm would have been a major improvement! |

Wouldn't making the cars run Fords and/or carry the Ford sticker go against the fundamental idea of what TGP was supposed to be?

No, I think it was a Ford sticker and the meeting was at Brands Hatch, the only time I have seen the Ferrari racing in TGP.

Upon reflection it may have been a special Ford day at Brands which is why they asked all the cars to carry a Ford sticker, including Ferarri!
