Chat is down it seems

I have created a temporary IRC chat until Ten-Tenths Chat returns.

for those with IRC clients...

for those who prefer a webpage chat interface...

This temporary chat is not directly affiliated with 10-Tenths and only serves as a temporary chat area until the official chat returns.

Future of the IRC server is uncertain at the moment, so users are free to make use of this IRC network if they wish. An annoucement on the official Ten-Tenths IRC server will be made in the next couple of days.

An alternative might be to create and embed a chatango group in the tenths website. Link to how it is done:http://chatango.com/help?help_group_chat#create Not to hard I imagine and it is there server and not yours to maintain anymore. A real plus. Chat on #motorsports is a real mainstay for many 10ths chatter. Hope a solid solution can be found.

For what its worth....

A group of us migrated here when Speed TV in the US quit hosting chats for race events. It was a lead-up to the demise of the Speed brand, at least as a television network.

We enjoy the live interaction, especially on race weekends.
LeMans, for examples produces a pretty substantial crowd, as do F1 races.

If the old IRC server isn't feasible, then I would gladly work with whoever to see what other alternatives there are.

It's an outlet for race fans like no other, and it would be a tragedy if it's lost forever.
