Going back to F3 last season (seeing Fauzy two), was there two guys with the name Fauzy? (Fariz Fauzy and Fauriz Fauzy or something similar?). I remember being at Combe and being very confused........
So which Fauzy is this please?! F Fauzy doesn't really help! |

It's Faruiz, the older brother who has raced in F3 for 2 years. 2002 with FGR, 2003 with SYR and Prometecme (I think!!!)

It's actually Mohammed FAIRUZ Fauzy, the elder and better of the two Fauzy brothers. Yes, he started 2003 with SYR and moved over to Promatecme, and I think he was with Fred in 2002. His brother, Mohammed FARRIZ Fauzy, was also with SYR for a bit in 2003, but he was, to be fair, pants. I think the confusion is understandable as their names are about 86% identical!

What about saying their names? Can imagine (if situation occurs / occured) commentators getting very tongue-twisted trying to distinguish between the two, especially if they're running fairly near each other. Surely their names are pronounced quite similarly? |

I think that the Snetterton win was an example of "Fuzzy logic" :-)

Suze,
I think the commentators solved that problem by NEVER ONCE mentioning the younger brother by name..., It helped that he was rarely on the track for long enough to actually do anything worth talking about (no offence Farriz, mate!) Rumour has it that he got himself signed up to SYR on false pretenses - Soong Yap was suing him and his dad for some reason at the end of last season..., |

LOL Let me know if you find out why! I don't remember ever hearing about him having a good race, just remember my confusion at Combe.
