FAUST!!! should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Little Openings

Can somebody explain to me, what use have the openings on the top of the nose which have both MP4-17 and F2002

bobdrummond should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
I don't know for sure, but I think they are NACA ducts for damper & driver cooling

tip or on top of the nose cone? if at the tip then the MP4-17 & BAR 004 have them not the F2002.

At the tip of the nose, F2002 also has it but its smaller than MP4-17 and BAR004

These things were brought in, I think last year or the year before, to get some cooling for the driver's feet.
Really!
I remember one race, guess it was Malaysia 00, where both drivers'feet were almost burning because of the heat in the very tight monococque.
The mechanics drilled holes in the nosecone and it seemed to work.
Of course it was not 'high tech' to see drilled holes in a nosecone and for the next race the elliptical wirenetted hole was intodruced.

yeah Luc, cos i remember the F1 2001 review video when in malaysia they did a whole peice on driver cooling. the apparent name for these 'holes' in the nosecone are 'donkey dicks'
