RichardRenes should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Team Germany: latest

The following comes from the German tv commentator Sven Heidfeld, brother of, and former teammate of André Lotterer.

1) Main drivers are going to be Lotterer and Ammermüller (good points for who started that rumor )
2) German team is going to do the tech side, for now, most likely is team Rosberg, who did team Austria in year 1, but Mücke and Zakspeed rumored too.
3) You may see Siemens sponsoring on the car.

No I think Ammermuller is strong, just got off on wrong foot last season. A little to agressive but certainly controlled agression is good. Would expect lotterer to be main driver, but both would be potential winners in the right enviroment. Championship a bit hard if only starting NZ,,, if they get some funding.

All of this has finally been confirmed on autosport.com here.

André Lotterer raced alongside James Courtney in British F3 and was pretty good. He has since had plenty of experience since in Japan.

This is going to be a major task to put together a new team and get the car ready by NZ round. Less than 2 months and Xmas in between. I really hope they do, as I think they would be a major force and contribute to the depth of talents at the front that this series has. Indonesia would be a more likely target IMO.

They've already been working on it for a while. The Autosport article was basically a cut and paste from what had appeared on the A1GP website a couple of weeks ago, and the German car design was even in the race program at Zandvoort and Chengdu. The car is just a matter of one more coming off the production line, which has already finished the other 22 (how many teams have we got exactly?) and is now well into producing spares.

Team germany have no team... Was supposed to be David Sears, but they changed to India a couple of weeks ago. It takes time to put together a team.. A lot of equipment to be fabricated ect..Team gear to be made.. (and purchased) People organised. I think what they have been organising is getting the team rights from Willi Webber and nothing more has been done yet. I imagine there are still finacial issues and there would be a lead time once these are overcome. Parts are probably more of a priority at this stage. I wish it was more sorted, as I think they will be a force in this championship.

That is probably why they are aiming for Taupo, rather than they were for China or Sepang.

Rest assured that getting the franchise from WW is the least of the problems. All franchises were for 3 seasons, and if it hasn't been renewed, then WW has nothing to say (as happened with the USA franchise).

And the USA franchise also learned you don't need teamgear and all.. some basic tools are provided with the car (coolers come to mind), and other tools are so basic probably any self respecting raceteam has them.

One of the teams rumoured is team Rosberg motorsport, which is big in DTM, and ran team Austria in season 1 (and their USA round, with Friesacher driving, gave a better impression of their capabilities than the rest of the season with Matthias Lauda driving).

Rest assured a car is ready for them to assemble, and I am sure that before taupo, you will see either Lotterer or Ammermuler driving the car in a test in the UK.

What do you mean no Pakistan? Khan is driving, it is listed on the series official website and has been covered in news reports.

GBR have always been one of the slowest to announce drivers. Considering how long it takes to fly to NZ and overcome jet lag I presume they know who is driving - just have not told anyone!

They probably wanted to wait untill they were sure whether Danny Watts could make it or not.

His son was born yesterday, which leaves him 8 days to get there (with a huge jetlag).

We'll see

No Pakistan at Taupo or Lippo, it's on the latest A1GP press release that has just came out.

So they have had from October 2nd until January 23rd to modify Pakistan's car and they still didn't manage it? Please don't tell me it takes 3+ months to make the cockpit bigger...

And Lippo has been cancelled as they couldn't build the track in time - yet another negative point in what is quickly becoming a disaster.

How come they managed to build Durban x3 and Beijing x1 before and now they suddenly can't build a street track...
