Middling, five. There was some passing, Webber was quite racey after a poor start, and excitement due to mistakes but the race was 20 minutes too long, IMO. Alonso was lacklustre. Hamilton fast but erratic and 'clumsy'. Button did the job.

Not engrossing - flashes of entertainment, with Lewis making sure he had to do a lot of passing, but overall a middling 6....

5, this venue will never for me produce a classic, a little better if it rains, liken it to Chimps running round their cage, the 'team' in their box do their best to whip up some enthusiasm, without a great deal of success. Bin this one Berie give us a French GP back at Pau, sort the boys out.

People keep going on about how fantastic it is racing at night. Maybe it is spectacular when you are actually there, but on telly it just looks like they are racing in a big grey warehouse!

I am going to take a look at this again as I missed the beginning of the race.
Marina Bay will never provide great racing, but it is a great spectacle and looks fantastic at night.. So I think it is okay to have one or two of these a season.. |

4. Was boring at times, almost stand up to do another thing when I was watching on TV. Except the perfect drivers by Button and some in Hamilton, and the natural perfection of Vettel, nothing to remark.

I gave it a 6. Pretty decent - compared to previous years. Webber did some decent racing and Hamilton's recovery drive was exciting. Not a great track to race on, but this year's race was an improvement.

Not bad. Gave it a 7. Would have been processional without DRS.

3.
Only Hamilton's runs back through the midfield kept me awake. Dreadful circuit for racing. |

Almost dozed off towards the end, but managed to stay awake just about. Schu's crash woke me up a fair bit.

7.
I thought it was actually a pretty good race. Yeah there were 1 or 2 lulls, but it kept me awake after a night of heavy drinking (which f1 never seems to do!), and i think Singapore at night is a STUNNING place for the race. Give me that over Abu Dhabi or Bahrain anyday! |

It is not soulless at there are loads of people having a great time, well on my telly that is what I saw? It's what racing on the streets looks like, Long Beach is not even close to this... |

6. Would have been lower had it not been for Hamilton's eventful race.

They could certainly make an improvement. Look at Montreal or Monaco. Make it a Macau but with width. I'm not really talking about the track's raciness which is adequate. |

7 from me, love the venue itself but it was an average race overall.

I am sorry, but compared with the previous race venue at Monza Singapore is not even a starter, maybe the night aspect spoils it some what, like Silverstone has become too clinical and endless concrete for me, endless catch fencing, at least there are breaks in it at Monaco, guess I must pay more attention to folk enjoying themselves when the racing gets too boring.

Coming straight after Spa and Monza, it is very hard for any circuit to compete except Suzuka. But I think the organisers in Singapore have done the right thing by going for a completely different format and providing a night race around quite a demanding street circuit.
It wasn't a great race, but there were some very fine drives so I gave it 6. |
