Not much point in making a list as we rarely get the final lineup until a week or two before the first race.

You can scratch Wirdheim off the list of possible entries right away - he will stay in Japan for another year.

i dont hink Kasemets will find a ride next year, hes hasnt been impressive at all this year even he did fairly well in FA. Same goes for Zwolsman.

That looks like a very strong entry list, even if some of the drivers mentioned dont appear. Losing Allmendinger will of course be a big blow to the series but the likes of Pizzonia, Briscoe and Rahal joining the series will more than make up for that. Tomas Enge is a driver I think we could may well see in Champcar next year, he has been out of top line single seaters for a while now unless you count A1 GP and he may well not have a drive for 2007 if Prodrive pull the plug on their ALMS campaign. 29 entries is perhaps a little optimistic yes, but a grid of 22-24 cars is realistic. IMO.

Given that the Spyker F1 drive is pretty much the only one available for '07, I think we'll see anyone and everyone linked with that seat...

i think if Briscoe impresses at mexico he could et atleast 1of the RuSport seats even if Christiano is well (ihope so) as it said in the thread about the other Fortsye seat that Wilson was in talks with that team.

If Briscoe is going to impress signifcantly enough to secure a seat at RuSporthe needs to do a better job than he managed at Surfers Paradise. He didnt have a bad debut but when you consider that some here beleieved he was in contention for a podium or even a race win he really didnt perform to many peoples expectations.

I think we could well see Briscoe in Champcar next year but I would be suprised if it is with RuSport or any other of the front running teams.

A long shot is Scott Speed. He will likely be replaced at Torro Rosso. I doubt he'll be at any other team. He said once in a quote that he'd love to race in Champ Cars after a stint in Formula 1.

what cost him to go down a lap was the Marshal's were very 'patient' (as Ryan himself described it in a pre race interview on channell 10 Australia) in getting him started and that they could of got him out on the lead lap,and also he has had minimal testing and no racing in the car or the series.i definatly think he will do better in Mexico.

You can add Buddy Rice to the list. Well as a possible. He wants to be in Champ Car next year.

Hope to get 4-5 Americans next year. I believe we need it to create an interest.

I was under the impression that both Torro Rosso Drivers (Speed and the other bloke who spins alot , cant think of his name) have both been retained for next year

Is this not the case any more ?

well the interesting thing is. In motorsport news it said that Berger wants to replace him with Doornbos. What's interesting is, as we all know Doornbos was quite likely to race in Champ Car next year.

More to the point, its rumoured that Doornbos brings with him about £10m in sponsorship from Har Muermans' businesses. Which, given that Berger pays half the bills would be quite attractive to them.

Speed's not done too badly, but if I were a team boss and looking to keep hold of one of them, I'd keep Liuzzi.

Some drivers I'd like to see in Champ Cars next year - Adam Carroll, Giorgio Pantano, Graham Rahal (we need some Americans, given this is an American series), Jamie Hinchliffe (and Canadians, too!), Alexandre Premat, Antonio Pizzonia (right continent, at least), Ronnie Bremer. It'd be good to see some of the American drivers from that tedious oval series come over too, but I doubt that'll happen. In an ideal world, I'd pinch Sam Hornish Jr, Marco Andretti, Bryan Herta and Danica Patrick. But hey, I want reunification.....

Hey; 'MR I know it all!'

AS I already said, I posted what was said in Motorsport news (newspaper).

And posted by downforce in the f1 forum from the paper:

Quote:
Toro Rosso boss Gerhard Berger is said to be considering replacing Scott Speed with Robert Doornboss, to raise funds.
I thought it was worth posting as Scott Speed was quoted before saying after F1, he'd like to have a career in Champ Car. If its true that he'd be replaced by Doornbos for next year then its possible if he doesn't get another drive in Formula 1.

I'd rather have scott speed come over for the red bull drive in champcar than dornbosh or jani.
