Zolder, Belgium (Rounds 7 & 8) - 18th - 20th June
R7&8 Circuit Terlaemen/Zolder
Introduction While we discuss our visions of the future of the WTCC, lets not forget the next round, Belgium. The WTCC heads to a highly underrated track, located in the municipality of Heusden-Zolder, known as Circuit Terlaemen, or as we all like to put it Circuit Zolder. This marks the 5-year return of WTCC in Belgium, and will hopefully give the fans some great racing. Right now as it stands Yvan Muller -100 points- leads with Tarquini and Huff -76 points- joint second and Andy Prialux - 74 points- shortly behind. Will Tarquini, Huff or Prialux take the lead? Current Top Ten

Well, I happy also that it is heading to Zolder. I know some turns have tire walls close by and therefore a risk of a safety car. Once again no qualfying live and if everything on Euro Sport 1 behave itself qualfy is due at 9.55pm (and that is too late for me!)

Probably one of the best touring car tracks in mainland Europe, really looking forward to this one. If I only lived closer by...

i think it will be two great races, it is a small track but still a lot of opportunities to overtake.
Hopefully the rolling start goes well, then the change of a Safety Car will be a little smaller i guess.. They might be lucky to have some rain on Sunday, that will be very spectaculair, the prospect is very cloudy and a change of rain, maybe Coronel can do the same as in Okoyama, slicks in the front, en wets at the back |

Boring race, as usual (let's hope for rain in race2)...
There's really something wrong with the S2000 rules, 'cause whenever seeing a Superstars race or a TC2000, the races are much more entertaining. |

still talking about race 1 and we still not have the result up as there was a question mark about the start and that was checked but still no news on that front, how long does it take to decide to give a pen or not?

Race 2 as boring at the front as race 1.
At least the independents were fighting it out and giving something of a show. |

Not a bad race.
I've had word over on the Touring Car Times forum that there was someone from Ford watching the race. I've also heard rumours of Lada returning next race. |

Tom Coronel should have started in 1st place in Race 2.... Stupid rules of reverting the grid (and even more stupid after decisions like that!).

What I really wonder about is that what Gene got punished for happens almost since we have the flying race start on every flying start but Gene became probably the first driver being punished for it.
I don't like to repeat myself but in this championship a lot of doubtful decisions fall into Tarquinis favour. I really wonder if they punish Priaulx for jumping the start at race 2 now too Sorry I jumped the conclusion from the german coverage where a possible jump start by Gene was debated. Still annoying that the decision falls into Tarquinis favour once more Last edited by Andy77; 20 Jun 2010 at 19:09. |

Good to see Priaulx win something positive for BMW who surely must be close to pulling out as a works team come the end of the year...?
Still think the TDi is ridiculous in a straight line, its laughable that the FIA haven't done anything about it, when they did (Pau 2009) SEAT screamed like a pig, then they reversed the decision on the rev peak variance. Such a farce. |

Don't worry, the TDI's will be gone next year.

Chevys don't seem to have as big problems as BMW with overtaking SEATs and BMW have problems overtaking Chevies as well. I suggest you start considering the problem might instead be BMWs stubbornness sticking with 5speed, fixed gear-ratio, no full gas while shifting... everybody else already moved on years ago.

When SEAT and Chevy were struggling the FIA gave them a few concessions like flat bottoms etc, whereas now BMW seem to be struggling, nothing appears to be done. Last edited by Sodemo; 21 Jun 2010 at 08:40. |
