San Diego (Street Circuit)
Welcome to the 3.02 mile, twisty, challenging, radical Grand Prix of San Diego! This exquisite street circuit will be part of the 2013 American Le Mans Series, the 2013 IZOD IndyCar Series, and the 2013 Rolex Sports Car Series, to name a few. Plans have already been made to put this track into action. Construction on track material, like curbs, run-off areas, and grandstand maintenance has begun, and will be finished October-December 2012.*
*Please note that this information just fantasy; it is 3.02 miles and twisty and challenging, however. Here's my rendition of the "Grand Prix of San Diego". |

I can't wait for any real tracks you might have coming up, though. But enough of the street races. It's like a bad nightmare that just keeps reoccuring for us IndyCar fans. |

I believe in case of an emergency, there should be an access road left during the race for all blocks adjacent to the racetrack. Hence, I'm afraid you would need to edit your circuit to be feasible. Otherwise, it's a solid US style street circuit.

SOLARIS's Street Circuits
Welcome to my street circuits thread! I design and post street circuits for racing without official recognition... it's just fun to do!
Reading my street circuits and understanding their layout is quite easy. At the top of my street circuit map is the name of the track, the city, and the length of one to several configurations. The red line is the race track, the yellow line is the pit lane, and the white lines are the sector lines. I will label run-off areas and direction of the track as well. That's all you need to know! I always thought it would be fun if a street circuit series was devised with a huge prize on the line, attracting so many different teams and drivers. You could induct some awesome series to race at these tracks, like V8 Supercars, F1, ALMS, WEC, FIA GT, NASCAR, IndyCar, Grand-Am, SCCA, BTCC, WTCC, et cetera, et cetera. My goal in designing street circuits is to make them feasible and capable of good racing for all cars. I'll update this thread regularly. By the way, here are some venues to expect soon. Tokyo Washington D.C. Vancouver Mexico City Rome Helsinki Singapore London Paris Montevideo Sydney Cape Town Rio de Janeiro Shanghai Wellington Kuala Lumpur Seoul Jakarta Casablanca Caracas Those I and a friend have devised for adequate venues for my fantasy series. Also, I am interested in doing several U.S. street circuits. One of them is posted on my other thread. Thanks and stay tuned! Last edited by ScotsBrutesFan; 11 Apr 2012 at 00:53. I see a course zigzagging at right angles around a grid. Since it's a flat map, I can't tell whether or not there's any elevation change, either, but elevation change is nice and as near as I can tell this doesn't have any. Street circuits generally suck. With the selection of the right streets in the right city, they can be pretty to look at and fun to drive, but most city streets make for a lousy street circuit. |
