Andy H should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
The Australian Grand Prix is to continue to be held at Melbourne's Albert Park circuit, in the state of Victoria, until 2010.
Melbourne is a very popular track with fans and teams alike, and was the first racecourse to win the Best Circuit trophy (voted for by the teams) two years running in 1996 and 1997.

The state of Victoria is said to be delighted with the decision as the world-wide Formula1 TV audience gives the area great exposure, and creates massive employment opportunities for local citizens.

Economic benefits, believed to be in the region of $10 million a year, also ensure the GP's viability.

What's the general feeling down under folks - was anywhere else in serious contention for the GP?

Are you glad - or were you hoping for a change?

******* oath I'm not happy!

Melbourne is sooooo far away from here, bring it to Brisbane, or at worst Sydney...

I don't think anyone else was seriously trying to get it...we're lucky to have the Cart race up here...at least they don't put you to sleep

I'm surprised as I seem to remember in March it was announced that Melbourne had the GP till 2006 anyway.

I don't really mind where it is as long as I can get decent photos...now all I need is the media pass...

Magnificent, wonderful, amazing...I haven't read them yet

At least Mark had some help covering the racing...I had to cover all 18 races by myself and get photos...I probably wrote better because my camera broke.

I wish MN could help me out, but I doubt they will be able to, I'll have to try some other contacts.
