Jaguar?

Where is Jaguar evrybody? F1, of course. Does anyone think that Jaguar will one day return to Le Mans?

Eventually, probably.

In the near future? Nope.

I would have thought that - with Ford themselves doing rallying and Jaguar doing F1, then the logical 'brand' to use if the Ford Motor Group want to do sportscars would be with Aston Martin. There have been rumours about a Le Mans Aston over the last couple of years, but nothing has come of it yet.

Wouldn't mind seeing a Vanquish in the FIA GTs either...

Unfortunately no. It will be a long long time before Jaguar are back racing where they should.

I suppose a privateer may come along and take a XK8 to Le Mans. I doubt it would go to Le Mans and I'm not sure it would be competitive. Anyway Jaguar should really be winning Le Mans!

An Aston in GTS and a Jaguar in GTP would be ideal!

I know its not nearly the same as a full LMP programme at LM but there is a brand new Jag XK8 due out in British GTs this year.

Ford prefer building a "new" GT40 to get nostalgic vibrations.
What will they do in 40 years ? another "new new" GT40 ?
Of course yes, because i doubt they'll be able to make anything legendary during that time. They have some of the worst sports policies since the beginning of the 80's . How many dollars have been lost in Formula one, rallying or endurance since those days?? Too many i think. The C100 project could have been good if only they decidedto keep it up.

The last assault on LM was really lead by private entries from Group 44 and Walknishaw. Only when they saw there was a really good chance of a win did the factory really put 100% into it. Only to find Merc lead in by Sauber were at the same stage.

Perhaps someone could shove a Jag lump into the back of a Courage or something and make it win.

i went to google and typed in XJR-15 (which i knew it wasn't) and worked my way down from there.
I believe it is a Jaguar XJR-5, from either '84 or '85.

If the caption is right then it is 1985. The Tullius/Robinson/Ballot-Lena car finished 13th after qualifying 16th and hit 209mph down the Mulsanne.
