Formula Ford Technical Specifications

G'day all,

Could any wise men/women point me in the direction of obtaining Formula Ford technical regulations please.

I have tried the FIA site but could not find any mention of Formula Ford.

Australian Cams and Australian Formula Ford, just has updates on regs but no tech specs.

What I am looking for is the Tech specs for chassis 2005 onwards.

Such as
Cockpit size, height of roll bar from firewall, wheelbase, track width etc.

Engines and legal gearboxes, is suspension free or must conform to spec.

Body extremities, radii of corners, is ducting allowed on the engine or must be part of the bodywork like Vees.

Well just specs to conform to the rules and regulations or is one just pinned down to buying Van Diemen, Swifts, Specturms etc.

Part of an engineering study project, no point buying an old second hand car when one can learn and develope skills from a slow new one

any ideas or advice is much appreciated.

Som.

Thanks John, was aware.

That was why I was looking for the 2005 specs, they suppose to be international standards.

I'll accept any information, as a start is a start.

Wanting more of the challenge of constructing, the best way to learn is by doing even if its wrong. You just know what not to do next

Hi there.

I know this thread was years ago now but I too am looking for the spec that the original poster was asking for, for a chassis as current as possible.

Can anyone help out?

Thanks

Has anyone seen the revised regulations for 2012? Are they available for download?

kartingdad has a lot of promise if they can keep it on the circuit!
They must be available, as how would the scrutineers know what to enforce. Have you asked the MSA?

I have just downloaded the 2011 regs and have been drawn to 5.6.e which states that valves must be original or if replacement parts need to be stamped FFI on the stem. I assume that as this is highlighted it is a new for 2011 regulation.

I wonder how many engines fall foul of this regulation currently.
