A long shot.
Basically I am posting on the off chance that there is an open wheel racing team in either the Oxford or Hastings/Ashford area that are willing to take on a spare pair of hands. For a student who is looking for some work experience over the summer.
I study Motorsport engineering at Oxford Brookes and I am in yr1. Its my aim to make a career out of being a race car engineer in open wheel racing, of course f1, but then who isn’t. After talking to a few people in the industry it comes across as experience is an important factor to success. I won't claim that I have great knowledge of race car set up etc, but I do think I have a rather basic understanding of it from reading books and racing RC cars, ye ok stop laughing lol. http://homepages.nildram.co.uk/~beggins/rs5/car/rs1.jpg The thing is I am willing to learn and I am very keen to get an opportunity like this one if something may arise. I am willing to pay for all expenditure as this is ultimately for my benefit. If anyone has any questions please post here or email me on 05030894@brookes.ac.uk. Would be very grateful for any replies and advice! Cheers Peter Last edited by PeterGrant; 19 Apr 2006 at 13:01. Reason: ' |

If I were you I would go to a race meeting early and chat to the scrutineers, get them to introduce you to some people and take it from there...Oh I wouldn't mention your interest in RC cars...it won't impress..good luck!
