Film on Ch4 "Taxi" on now (Fri) features an ex-works Pug super tourer.
I just thought i'd say, that my other obsession is movies, and on Ch4 right now is a French Film called "Taxi", which features a (I think 1997) ex-works Peugoet 406.
Its a good film, its in French though. |

Seen it about three times now. I like the mmmm, clunk noises when the 19" rims fold out from underneath the car and the front splitter appears, boot lid revolves for spioler too. Pity that never raced in BTCC, then pug could have had a chance.

A REAL ex-Works ST Pug? Sounds a bit outrageous? Your sure it ain't one of those demo/show/PR cars? Wasn't there one for sale recently in the UK? The Esso Ultrone one? It was selling for only 15K pounds I think?

ai it was a real one!!! it went like **** off a shovel!!!!! the earlier scenes feature a standard pug 406 because they were waiting for it to finish the season!!!! (and it was really easy to get hold of cos no-one else wanted it!) i do think it was modified slightly though (apart from them spraying it white!)

actually we shouldnt be so sure about how bad the pug's were!!!!! the two '98 cars where raced in the '99 ATCC and actually won races and where constantly running at the front of the pack!!! and they where competing against other former works cars!!!! (the whole series is non-works teams)

Agree hunttheshunt, a pug will never go well in BTCC.
kmchow, no it ain't the show car, cos the Esso Ultron one lives in my local town, and is for sale again I think. |

Hmmm--- Have you seen 1993 and 1994?? Peugeot was on the pace in a lot of the races and in some in 1994 Patrick Watts was challenging Gabriele Tarquini for the lead!! How can you say that pug will not be competitive? They will have some good races this year, there's bound to be a race where Plato, Muller, Thompson ect. will drop out and it will be between Peugeot and Lexus! |
