It is different kind of engines used in karting and else where. You can see the definitions below:

Definition: A 4-Stroke is an engine that uses four strokes to complete a complete cycle. The four strokes are: Intake, Compression, Combustion, and Exhaust. During the Intake Stroke, the intake valve opens and an air-fuel mixture enters the chamber above the piston. The piston moves down drawing the mixture in. The intake valve then closes and the piston moves up for the Compression Stroke compressing the mixture. The spark plug then ignites the mixture causing an explosion. The resulting force moves the piston down again for the Combustion Stroke. Then the exhaust valve opens as the piston moves upward for the Exhaust Stroke and all the exhaust gases are ported through the exhaust system.

Also Known As: 4-Cycle

Definition: A 2-Stroke is an engine (also known as a Stroker) having two strokes per cycle. The combustion stroke occurs when the piston moves down allowing the exhaust gases to exit through an opening. The compression stroke is the upward movement of the piston where the air-fuel mixture is drawn in and the spark plug ignites the mixture causing an explosion, thereby forcing the piston back down again.

I know what you mean, but I could not find anything better to explain it from the web. This brings back memories since I remember having problem with the 2 cycle engines at 3rd year university as well

Which do you guys like better... which is faster... which is more reliable... and for anybody that knows about Margays, does the Bravo 2 mean it takes a 2 stroke engine and a Bravo 4 a 4 stroke engine. sorry for all the questions.

a 4 stroke is more reliable I'd think. a 2 stroke has amazing power for its size, they are very different approaches to the idea so experience will give you preference also 4cycles are a little cleaner for the good earth
