billy bigtime has a lot of promise if they can keep it on the circuit!
HRT/Toll-HSV friendship over already???

After todays race, Todd has questioned Garth's tactics while passing him, with Skaife suggesting Garth may have brake tested Todd at the finish. Is this the end of the "love fest" already?

In order:
Very badly, 3 wrecks and a couple of close calls in 5 races
Not as special as they usually are, 2nd car is consistent not competitive
The 2nd car is always a shot at the top 10, but the driver has rarely demonstrated on the blue side of the fence that he can lead from the front and pull away without the help of his former teammate...

but i was under the impression that SBR craeted a car that good that any mug could drive them well. so far it appears the ex driver had more of a say in it than he was given credit for

Last year the 2nd driver was racing for wins this year its top 10's

On the todd garth thing

hasnt the precedent been set for brake testing after the podium at indy a couple of year ago
"Car #1, Marcos Ambrose, was found to be in breach of Rules, careless driving in that he failed to exercise reasonable care immediately after crossing the control line at the end of Race 1; fined $10,000"

Its true in part. If Ambrose started 2003 in for example a WPS BA, he would have been an also ran too.

The rules are no different for Holden or Ford..

Should Prodrive, or Mr Dane wish to form a technical allegance with another Ford team, then they also can be grouped and have the benefit of having four cars on the track..... but then ... all you ford blokes thought it was good HRT & HSVDT were grouped before didn't you... JUSTICE i seem to remember it was called.... hmmmm.

Ford is sort of doing it, with their SBRE engine program...

I like the sound of carving up the Ford/prodrive millions to beef up the resources of SBR & 888 however

Still, you'd reckon it would be by as much as some of the poor saps they've saddled with WPS BA's...

I think the category will miss Ambrose, not only for the speed he seemed to generate from the SBR car, or his focus, but also the mental game he played, cracking Skaife in 03, and keeping his foot on his throat through 2004. Skaifey's on the up and up, and I don't think there's another guy in the field who could get over the top of him like Marcos did.

Thats inappropriate in any thread, let alone this one. It's also inaccurate.

Anyway... apparently Garth actually went ahead of Todd after the finish to brake test him. Thats worse than what Ambrose did I think - it was "more" premeditated. I think Garth should be fined for that nonsense. If not for his folly on the straight then the aftermath for sure.

This is not what HR/HSV need.

Apologies for offending you with a poorly-worded phrase... hopefully the mod's will consider removing it to save further offense.

Maybe it was merely Garth's reaction to Todd's bump and run move for position during the race. I only saw it once, it was subtle, but enough.

There seems to be a fair bit of dispute about who bumped who in the run along the home straight, but either way it didn't look illegal.

Brake testing is illegal no matter what the circumstances and anyone proven to have done so should rightly be pinged in the hip pocket (given this was a non-points round).

In my view, Garth is the quickest of the 4 factory drivers, with Todd not far behind, with Mark quick yet still inconsistent, and Rick dependent on the pace of his teammate...

If you wanted to play hare and tortoise.. the cars would be swapped a little.. it would be T.Kelly/G.Tander and R.Kelly/M.Skaife. Both would go like the clappers, but both would not finish.

I reckon there is more to this story. I think Uncle Tom has told Garth that he is the backup if HRT fail, and Garth has told Tom "to have sex and travel". Garth was showing he will not be #3 in this Walkinshaw exercise.

Not sure if this was mentioned elsewhere:

You're probably right RotorFan but SBR, 888 and FPR need it!
