Is that the GT1 Porsche which had a very good drive in Silverstone 2 years ago?

Nothing certain, but dailysportscar believes the car is the PSI car used in Belcar, not the car raced at Silverstone.

Quote:
Back in 2005 Kaufmann actually led the uber-wet LMS race at Silverstone although we believe the car entered by the Belgian team is a PSI-built car, one used, quite successfully in the Belcar series.

Hadn't Lister planned to show up at Spa? I guess they've pushed things back to 2008 then?

Yes, it seems that it may well be 08 before the Lister shows up.

It would seem, with being in 11th place with a total of 3pts, that they have decided that going to the "Bavaria City Racing" demonstration run in Rotterdam might be a better ROI, and should be back for the Silverstone round.

Last year (despite very bad weather) Bavaria City Racing attracted 400.000 (!!!) people. Besides that I think driver/sponsor David Hart is from Rotterdam. So this event is probably much more interesting for them than the race in Spa.

And to add to that, the new A1 GP car for Holland is presented at that event. And since Bleekemolen is the nr 1 driver, and Jan Lammers runs the Dutch team they are running out of drivers to race Spa.

So to summarize: nothing to win at Spa, $$$ to get in Rotterdam.

Why are the two things clashing! This is yet again motorracing taking a shot gun to its own feet

No it isn't - the two events are in different countries - One is a sportscar event and the other principally isn't - Jan has clearly decided that it makes more commercial sence to appear at the Rotterdam event - that's a shame but as an earlier poster has pointed out he is rather a long way out of points contention in any case.

If I was a racing driver and I had a Judd powered Dome sportscar and the opportunity to race it at Spa Francorchamps...

Altough the number of people at Rotterdam is a lot bigger than at Spa, the real sportscar/Lammers fans will be at Spa.

And I dont see how an appearance in R'dam effects his funds in a positive way.

So I agree with minimangler! It's very disappointing.

I didn't say he was wrong- I'd say, he's right, as petrol independents are being well and truly screwed by the rulemakers atm. And he'll make MONEY at rotterdam- sponsors.

The point could aslo be argued ..... why do RfH deserve a LMS season entry "if" they decide not to show up if they havent got much points ?

Im definetly disapointed about RfH , but not surprised either .

I too am very dissapointed with this decition of RfH. After all,it´s a sport they´re contending in,not a `how many sponsors can we lure in` contest.
I understand their motivation but I´ll surely miss them when I´m at Spa...

RfH parted ways with David Hart and have withdrawn from the remainder of the season, deciding to concentrate on 2008
