CTCRC Donington Park 22/23 March Season Opener -LIVE

The 'off season' is nearly over, and the Classic Touring Car Racing Club's Donington season opener is now only a few short weeks away! The meeting will put a start to one of the most exciting CTCRC calendars in years, with many of the UK's top circuits on the calendar, alongside what should be a spectacular season finale at Spa Francorchamps.

The Donington Park rounds will be shown LIVE on leading motorsports channel Motors TV, as part of the 'Motors TV Live Raceday' coverage, something that will be a key theme for the season, with both the Silverstone and Cadwell Park rounds scheduled to receive further LIVE coverage.

Championships on display will include:
-Thermex Pre 1966 Historic Saloon Car Championship
-AUTOGLYM Pre 1983 Touring Car Championship
-SVG Motorsports Pre 1993 Touring Car Championship
-Burton Power Blue Oval Saloon Car Championship
-Toyo Tires Pre 2005 Production Touring Car Championship
-PRG Trailers Thunder Saloon Championship
-Toyo Tires Honda V-Tec Challenge

With the combination of the fantastic Donington Park venue, and the Live coverage, the grids are set to swell!
So there are no excuses, polish your race cars, or put your spectator boots on, and get down to Donington on the 22/23 March!
SO WHO'S COMING?

If my membership goes through in time I hope to be there in orange.

If not I might bring my camera. The winter break is far too long.

As has been said, it is a bit early for a timetable; however, in addition to the CTCRC's variety of competitions, the meeting will also include Max5s, the various Caterham Graduates championships, Kumho BMWs, MG Owners Club and Classic FF1600.

You don't need to be a member of any club to marshal. If you want to marshal the meeting I'd suggest sending an email to Paula Brown (Officials Secretary at BARC) - pbrown@barc.net. Drop me a PM if you need any further advice.

This winter break has been too long - I'll be in the spectator areas for both days thanks to a cheap Travelodge.

Don't wait for membership of anything - it is not necessary.

Just volunteer at http://marshals.org.uk/DonESform.htm

Regards

Thanks, but I've applied for BMMC membership and would rather like to get the insurance cover it provides (and need to arrange some orange Proban too...)

You are insured via the MSA when you sign on don't need the BMMC insurance.

BARC don't tend to publish entry lists in advance; however, the Classic FF1600 list is at: http://www.classicff1600.moonfruit.c...ist/4583414298

We are at Donington with the Firenza in Pre 83, hopefully with 3 other Firenzas on the grid.

Also looking forward to the Thundersaloons

I'll be there helping* a friend with his Caterham, maybe both days.

Does anyone know where us spectators will be parking for this event?

I've never spectated at Donington before and am a bit spoilt by the fact I can park behind where I sit at Druids when watching at Brands. Can you do anything similar in the Craner curves/Redgate area? I only ask if its wet being outside all day is a tad miserable....

And yes I know marshals do it, they just obviously have more commitment then I!
