2015 Japanese Super GT
Here is a new thread to discuss about the next Super GT season. As the calendar has the same circuits in order, it doesn't look too bad for me.
Last season Nismo was GT500 champion and they will get #1 this season. And GT300 champion was Goodsmile Racing with 0 points behind GAINER in the Drivers' Championship, but in the Teams' Championship GAINER had 98 points and GSR had 96 points, so either of them can have #0. |

In my opinion, GSR (Goodsmile Racing) would be get the number #0 due to the driver championship. See in 2008 SUPER GT GT500 champion is Nismo but the Team Champion is (#36) Petronas Tom's http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Super_GT http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2008_Super_GT_season http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2009_Super_GT_season |

If RLM ends up covering the series, it'll be that much easier for me to follow.
Was kinda nice last night watching both the V8's and SGT at the same time. |

Looking forward to it. This year got hooked up, even if the new DTM-spec for the 500 is far cry from the old.
IF RLM comes along for full season, I hope they stick to the same commentary pair/trio for each weekend so that they're familiar with the format well enough to keep the commentary focused and up-to-date. Hopefully mr Collins would be one of them, his input is always welcomed. There are some same-day clashes with WEC next year, and possibly USCC and ELMS (haven't bothered to check) but I don't think it would be that huge of a problem if they have separate crew and/or feed if before. Also, will the Toyota Prius be retired now with the 86 coming along? |

I don't think the Prius will be retired just yet. The Dome-engineered GT86 will be an addition to the GT300 grid as the car is available to small teams who don't have the budget to fabricate body shells nor buy new engines other than the GTA-badged Nissan engine.

Prius has come on good this year. A little more time into it and they'll be real contenders. I am really looking forward to seeing the new Lotus MC Evora thats supposed to enter.

also, Mooncraft are building the Evora, i guess itll be the Honda Cars Tokai Dream28 team running it again like the Shiden? their GT3 Mclaren didnt have a good run either, so they probably want to get rid of it... also...might actually be going to one of the Fuji rounds during a holiday next year...be nice to see them for real... There is a rumor in which Dome (#18) closes racing team business on the web.
The rumour says that Dome focuses on the constructor business. In a word, Dome withdraws from Super GT. |

But in my opinion, if the other Team like Team Studie (#7) will participate GT500 then Dome might be helping that team to construct the Racing Car chassis as well since the parts in Japan are different to German constructor parts. If agree then comment this post , If disagree state the reason here. |

But next year the technical regulation is not yet unified. The latest is 2017. Instead that, BMW can group up in Japan so the Japan privateer team will be easier than shipping one from Germany.

Bringing a DTM car is cheaper than building one in Japan.
As for Dome, it's sad that they'll withdraw in the GT500 class to focus on chassis construction. Nevertheless, Toyota is gonna be the manufacturer to beat with 6 cars compared to Nissan and now Honda's 4. |

At least GTA isn't forcing manufacturers to have specific standardized amount of cars on the grid and all equal in numbers, like in DTM. So you have some flexibility and freedom there.
While BMW waits for common ground, I guess they can just continue with their camouflaged factory GT3 cars in the secondary class. |

How about Takuya Izawa? I'm sure Honda would place him in Super Formula, then climbing up the ladder into Formula One.

Nismo replied that full season streaming+RLM next year will depend on what rights are available, but they will try.

Promo trailer for promo video? Think it'd been more clearer if this had been titled as "teaser"

Some of my buddies doesn't like the new GT500 cars :P I had no own opinion so I had to agree with the person who said that. I used to do that, but I didn't care about the new GT500 cars. Not much people like the new GT300 cars (except the BRZ, Prius, 86 GT300 and CR-Z GT).
