If Webber goes to Williams this year.....

Interesting reading in Adelaide's Sunday Mail today, they practically confirmed that Webber will be in a Williams in Hungary. Who would replace him at Jag? Interesting......

Mark Webber has a lot of promise if they can keep it on the circuit!
I think Wirdheim and NH will come in when 05 comes around

Wirdheim. He's the test driver already, so a natural to succeed Webber.

Mind you, they need to get their chequebook out and actually get a top line driver.

Wirdheim will be promoted to driving duties IF Webber ends up at Williams. But that's still a big IF...

As he is the third driver for Jaguar i think Wirdheim will get the drive.

If DC struggles to get a Williams or Toyota drive, could he be in the frame for Jag? For all I would like him to get Williams or Toyota, I'm not very confident that he will (although he wasnt looking too bothered about the situation when questioned by ITV yesterday). There may not be much other drives avaliable to him and to avoid dropping off the grid, I can see him looking to Jag.

eein, this poll is about who would take the drive for the rest of the year if Webber left this year, not about how wonderful DC is.

Wirdheim stepping up would make the most sense, as he's already proved himself to have real speed, and he knows the car. For next season apiring him with someone like Coulthard would be ideal.

Mark Webber to drive for Williams AT HUNGRAY!!!!!!

Mark Webber's '05 BMW-Williams deal is done.

The Formula One paddock already knows that - but what it might not know is that the Australian is likely to drive his Jaguar for the final time at Hockenheim.

Australian sources said Webber will start his new career in Budapest (Aug. 15).

For a cool $700.000 thats the cost to buy Mark from JAG for the remainder of 04 & 05

go to www.f1-live.com for more

Fact or fiction ?

I suppose until Mark or Williams make an official statement we have to take it as fiction. An announcement must be due very soon though

We might get to see the real Mark Webber talent in a better car.

True. But more potential for improvement.

I think it's more likely Webber will drive for Williams in Hungary than Hungray though!

Why isn't he switching for Hockenheim then? Surely Williams have seen enough of Gené, and woudn't get much real idea of Pizzonia from 1 race?

Previous reportsa have said that an announcmenet will be amde at Hungary, so this seems unlikely to be the case. I'll believe it when (if) I see it.

I don't want to rain on the parade, but www.pitpass.com are reporting that Ralf is aiming for a return to Williams at Hungary.

Obviously this is down to the doctors to decide, but the message coming from BMW and Ralf is that he is raring to go.

You'd think that Williams would want to wait until the testing ban was over as well...

From the info I have yes Webber will be in a Williams at Hungary.Ralf will be released from his contract early by Williams. This has apparently pleased Toyota who would love him to arrive early.Jag are also happy because there race expenses will be taken care of by Williams in the payment to obtain Mark early.

£700,000 doesn't seem like alot of money to me, and what IF it does happen, who will take Marks place? Wirdheim? Klien and whoever aren't likely to get any points, so 700 grand is nothing in comparison to the amount of money they are likely to lose through lack of points.
