A track that I drew yesterday. All configurations run clockwise. Like Smålandsbanan it is situated in a forest. Enjoy and please comment
Club Circuit (1.0 km) The shortest track configuration, using the east (small) pit area. The pit lane is to the left of the main straight but the main area is on the infield, connected by a tunnel. Now, a lap around the club circuit. After crossing the finish line we head down to Rydell corner, a mid-speed 3rd gear bend that takes us down a short straight to the hairpin. Round the hairpin and a very short stint down to a similiar but more open hairpin (Kopparbergs) that takes us up to Michelin. Then follows the second longest straight on the track that also turns slightly to the right before the final corner (Meca Corner) that links the track togeather. National Circuit (West) (2.2 km) This circuit uses more of the full corse, making Rydell into two corners, first the left hander we already know about before going right up the hill. Through Spendrups bend, a blind, uphill corner. After Spendrups the ground levels out and we head into the first of the Dark Height corners (named Dark Height because of the forest being very dense here), Dark Height In. A short blast to Dark Height Out, a right hander, before the short straight that leads us to 962. From midway through the straight the elevation drops quite steeply until after Michelin Esses (the Michelin Corner uses the last part of the esses) and we then rejoin the Club course. National Circuit (West) (3.3 km) The second National circuit uses the larger, more luxurous main pit area. Turn 1, Startkurvan, is quite similiar to the first corner on the club track. After turn 1 we enter the Hotel Complex, named after the numerous hotels to the left of the track. The complex is quite a tricky section, and while passing might be difficult you can either gain or loose a lot of time here. After the four turns that make up the complex the Marabou chicane takes down the speed before Stanley Dickens Corner, a semi-slow hairpin that heads slightly downhill. The road keeps going slightly downhill untill the National corner that leads back to the main straight. The straight takes you back to the finish line, only interrupted by Jo Bonnier, a fast corner for most cars. International Circuit (6.9 km) Now we are moving up in size: the International circuit. This course uses the National West circuit up to the Marabou chicane, but instead of Stanley Dickens Corner we blast down the Stanley Dickens Straight to the Club course hairpin. Through Kopparbergs and Michelin, but instead of using the club straight we go onto the Sportscar Straight, which is cut off by the first of the Grand Prix bends, Grand Prix 1. It is a tight right hander that opens up into a left hander and then becomes Grand Prix 2, a right hand corner. Then we have a fast sweeper called Kenny Bräck before rejoining the National Wert course. Grand Prix Circuit (8.0 km) The Grand Prix circuit is impressive with its full eight kilometers. It uses both the East and West National circuit, but almost nothing of the club circuit. As can be seen on the map, Rydell Corner is neither an esses nor a right hand corner here; it is a left hander (the second part of the esses), that takes us up the known route through Spendrups and Dark Height. And instead of Kopparbergs and the Michelin corner we use the Michelin Esses, giving the car much higher top speed into Grand Prix 1. Sportscar Circuit (17.1 km) This is the real beauty. 17.1 kilometers of track, using the full GP circuit and more. Instead of turning into Grand Prix 1 we continue down the straight to the fastest part of the track, the quick left-hand sweeper going into Gunnar Nilsson Corner. After Gunnar Nilsson comes Reine, and then a straight that takes us to Ronnie, a fast right hander. Then there is a curved straight of equal lenght leading up to Lill-Lövis, then the back straight and into Kenny Bräck. All configurations Here all track configurations can be seen togeather. And there you have it |

Misprint at the first national circuit; that's national east, not west.

For the shortest circuit, the main straight would only be 200-300m long.
At 1km, it's really too short to fit in the detail you have. Compare it to somewhere like Brands Hatch's Indy circuit is 1.97km long. Even the internal Stowe circuit at Silverstone is 1.28km. |

I think the best one of these is the International Circuit.
The Club Circuit looks very Brands Hatch. And the Sportscar Circuit would be very enjoyable for a 24-hour-race. But I've never been to a 24-hour-race. So what do spectators do all the time? |

SCB: Yes you're right, it is too short - I didn't know how long to make it because it needed to be quite short. And indeed it draws some inspiration from Brands Hatch, but it doesn't have those big elevation changes. This overlay highligts their relative size:
http://img490.imageshack.us/my.php?image=brandsfu4.jpg Anyhow, I did some calculations of the length by measuring the pixel length of Club to Brands (Club is 76,9% the size of Brands) and found out that the Club circuit is actually 1,483 km! |

You can never have too much detail! (if you haven't already, take a look at "Shoreline raceway")
Like i said, good amount of deatil there, brings the circuit to life! |
