Wow! well spotted! I'm glad Frank doesnt have to go to the Saudi's nowadays for money as their human rights record stinks as we all know. Just what F1 would need, along with the anti-smerkin lobby, the green lobby and uncle tom cobbley!
Great spot tho! |

Have you noticed that the Bush Family did have businesses with Bin Laden's Dad?
Did you know that Bin Laden was at the CIA roll? |

Albilad, as on the decall on the side of the car, was one of the big Saudi funders of Williams, as was Saudia Airlines and TAG. Albilad is a big hotel chain and is owned by the bin Laden family.
They were that big funders the team was even called after Albilad in it's official entrant name from 1978 until 1982, when it changed to TAG Williams for two years and to Saudia Williams for the 1984 season. After that they went on as Canon Williams. Rothmans Williams from 1994 onwards, Winfield Williams in 1998 and 1999 and from 2000 onwards as BMW Williams. 1978 Albilad - Saudia Williams Racing WCC 9th, 11 points with Jones (27) 1979 Albilad - Saudia Williams Racing WCC 2nd, 75 points with Regazzoni (28) and Jones (27) 1980 Albilad Williams Racing World Drivers and Constructors Champions WCC 1st, 120 points with Jones (27) and Reutemann (28) 1981 Albilad Williams Racing World Constructors Champions WCC 1st, 95 points with Jones (1) and Reutemann (2) Just to be complete. Not totally sure about the ownership of the Albilad-chain by the bin Laden family though. Companies like Dallah Avco (the other decall on the tub) are constructing companies and that might be a (part-)owned bin Laden company as well. But the separate decalls for the bin Laden and Baroom families, both originally contractors from Jeddah, indicate that they're part owners and that the rest is co-owned with the Saudi Royal family, like with most of the ownership constructions in Saudi-Arabia.

Facco,
I believe that info for Laden being on CIA pay roll for some time is actually official for some years by now for the rest - his (Laden's) family gave up on him when he started terrorist carieer - and they did it officially On Sep. 12th one of his brothers residented in London repeated that the family has no connection with him and that they don't know anything about him outside of what they read/see in media |

The Bin Laden Family are extremely wealthy and have money spread all over the world. My Architecture school recieved a gift from Bin laden's brother of $1,000,000 which has caused the People's Republic of Cambridge to vote that the University give $5,000,000 to disaster relief. The brothers have nothing to do with one another-other than blood, there is no connection.
Same goes for Williams. |

He had to leave from Yemen, then from Saudi Arabia (spelling?) due to his "causes". BTW, at Islam to get a huge family, brings you more power (and if you have more daugthers than sons, then you rock! You will be paid to let your daughters marry) But, know what, let's mind our business, motorsport. Last edited by facco; 26 Sep 2001 at 14:13. |
