WTCR 2019 Race of Portugal
Interestingly enough, official WTCR site shows that they are going to stream FP2 and Qualifying 1 via Instagram page

Last year we had to play the very long waiting game after Race 1 was red flagged for a crash & a repaired armco

Apparently Eurosport doesn't have people on site to broadcast the Free Practice 1 today.

This series needs a new promoter as Eurosport simply do not care. They were so intent on showing three blokes waffling about Superbikes that they missed the start of the race. Not that you can actually race around Vila Real, awful circuit. Neal needs to go as well, the bloke doesn't have a clue.
Norbi won at a canter. |

Ha, just came on here to say the same thing - they missed the start of the race!

Agreed Pimmy, this series has been an absolute mess since it went to TCR rules, sad because there is so much talent and so many cars on track but the product is just awful.

Its not the TCR part that's the problem, its the tracks/poor BoP/Eurosport that is the problem.

Infinitely agree. The problem is not the TCR regulation but Eurosport Events and BoP.
Vila Real is a challenging track, but it can only deliver boring races. But we all understand that money buys TV time and that's all it matters for the fellow guys in Paris. When somebody says it’s not about the money, it’s about the money. |

In my opinion, such tracks as Vila Real should have a place in the calender (fast, challenging street circuit).. but not tracks like Marrakech which are neither spectacular nor challenging

The KCMG performance is very suspicious.

Yes, at least it’s good to watch the cars at Villa Real, Marrakech is just horrendous.

Anyone wanting to watch race 2 will have to wait until 5:30 am because Eurosport couldn't be bothered to show it this afternoon, neither live nor in the form of highlights before race 3. Today's qualifying session wasn't shown either.

You forgot to mention that is country that pays the most to host a WTCR event. If your customers do not feel like they are being engaged, what reason do they have to remain engaged or connected with you? |

I'm happy for Azcona. He's going to win a lot of races if he keeps this sort of form up, it's just a matter of time. A front runner in the SEAT León Eurocup, TCR Europe champion and now a winner in WTCR, along with being the most consistent driver in the series. Last edited by pimmy; 8 Jul 2019 at 11:40. |

I really like this street circuits like Vila real or Macao, even if Racing is limited. But it is a bit like a natural race track and of course very challenging.
And as Ehrlacher said, he had more fear in Vila Real than on Nordschleife... I don't see any problems with Tiagos win, as he was there already very good in the past. Of course home crowds can give extra power. And of course i really don't see any reason, why JAS himself should be slower than All-Inkl.com before... Vila Real is always a good crowd. Its better than on many other tracks, especially without local heroes like Norbi or Tiago. So go there again, it has a lot of drama and races are not that bad.... But Eurosport is as always a PITA. You never know, where it broadcasts a race or when. I don't understand, how you can act so unprofessional as a sport channel since more than 20 years... |
