Just being launched as I type this - tell you what its not all that ugly - the top down view is actually really sexy!

the front view does look dreadful though Sam
(not helped by poor Photoshop skills of the Scuderia) It has a very tight waist Interesting use of the Mirror supports..... Last edited by andy_b; 12 Jan 2009 at 08:40. |

Not as ugly as it could have been. Like the cleaned-up body, still don't like the nose and front wing of the '09 regulations.

From the side view the car isn't really bad, except for the oversized rear wing. But the front view is really bad.

I kinda like it you know - there are some really beautiful sculpted shapes on it. Only thing thats a bit off is the rear wing.

It's the front of these new generation cars that look so awful, like a combine harvester.

What's with the nomenclature change? F2008 to F60?

And because naming it after the year is incredibly lazy and unimaginative.
May as well call it the "Ferrari Monday 12-01-09" |

It's going to take an awfully long time to become accustomed to seeing snowploughs for front wings, and the tall narrow rear wings. I don't think I want to get used to seeing them like that.
The proportions are just all wrong - the nose looks too long, etc. etc. Still, I suppose it could be worse. |

Well, at least they have the right tyres on now (though the rears could be a bit wider - and apparently might be for 2010). I read an article stating that the rears are having some trouble lasting, and that this might need to be "looked at" for 2010. And the front wing is the correct height now.
They just need to make the cars wider. Quite why they decided against changing the width of the cars (as this was due to be done) is beyond me. Last edited by Sodemo; 12 Jan 2009 at 11:03. |

I'm surprised at the negative comments, I think it looks wonderful.

It just needs some time before I am gonna get used to this new style. I like the Ferrari tough and I am glad that all those little wings and stuff on the bodywork is gone.
Does anybody know if there are high(er) resolution pictures around? Can't find them yet. |

Still think the front wing is too wide and the rear one too tall and narrow, but I can live with them. BBC News report FM took the new F60 out for a run. Can't wait to see the others. Cheers Peter |

It's prettier than I expected. I think a lot of unnecessary fear was created by those ugly, out-of-proportion, test-hacks.
Mind, with that front wing, it could double up as a course car on Rally Sweden. |

Don't mind the look of it. Was expecting a lot worse looking car actually. Cant wait to see it in the flesh at Melbourne!

I keep thinking that the photo proportions have been messed with. No doubt once we see it alongside the other teams on the grid we'll forgive the shapes in favour of applauding good racing that they will hopefully provide.

the difference between the official shots and the on track ones is huge. have to admit that from the on track pics it will take me a while to get used to it. particularly the side mirror mountings???
but my initial reaction is still much better than my first thoughts of the F2008 which looked horrible with all the aero bits and slots cut into it everywhere. pics of the F2008 gallery from pitpass if anyone wants. on the whole though, aesthetically this new direction is a massive improvement imo. |

The looks haven't really improved from the test hacks IMO. It's that darned front wing that ruins it, with it's ridiculous width and boxy endplates.
It's OK in most areas though. I do like the clean lines on the sidepods. Reminds me of the launch version of the F2002. |

No hole in the nose anymore... I suppose that's not required anymore with this type of frontwing.
Have Ferrari lost some sponsors??? I don't see Martini anymore! |
