"Fantasy Island" meets IRL???
Bizarre in the extreme: http://www.grandprix.com/ns/ns13991.html Potentially incredibly good exposure, though!

Absolutely marvellous - a great way of getting exposure to casual viewers.

I read this in today's Indy Star...
I have to wonder just how many plot lines they will be abe to write that will allow such an effort to be sustainable, and how much silly "Hollywood" nonsense will be intrwoven into this project that will make the project as bad as "Days of Thunder" was....or the stupid movie by Stallone about Champ Cars was a few years ago... |

That is great stuff!
Aaron Spelling has a track record of making hit shows out of real schmoltz. I mean Love Boat singlhandedly revived the cruise industry, and made it huge! And Melrose Place, Beverly Hills 90210, and Charlies Angels are some of the biggest hits in TV history. Back in the day, his shows were cutting edge stuff, even though most are amusingly simple by todays standards. I say bring it on! I've had enough of CSI already! I'm ready for some of Spellings light hearted schmoltz! |

Didn't they try this with IMSA back in about 1980? With a young Michelle Pfeiffer in the bimbo role?

Oh dear. It can either be great, like CSI, or be ****, like Driven.

Is this serious or just a practical joke?

Beverly Hills meets oval racing?
I wouldn't have thought the image of the IRL was exciting or glamourous enough to bother making a drama/soap type show out of it. |

Indianapolis 500210? If it's an Aaron Spelling show I have a sad feeling it's going to be a lot more like driven than I want it to be... Actually it'll most likely be more like the "race" scene in the first Charlie's Angels movie...
