Bruni may be stripped of his victory
Gianmaria Bruni could have his first F3 win taken away due to a simple bit of paperwork. Gianmaria was jubilant after his maiden victory at Donington Park on Sunday but Jag Junior put in an appeal when they discovered that homologation paperwork connected with Fortec’s Renault engine had not been completed.
French engine builder Sodemo is responsible for the engine’s paperwork which is needed to satisfy FIA criteria. If Gimmi loses the appeal, Andre Lotterer could be promoted up to first place. An outcome is expected within a few weeks. While I understand rules are to be abided by and there for a reason, I don’t think that taking Gimmi’s points away is fair on the driver. If anyone should be punished it should be Sodemo or Fortec. Gimmi put in a great race and that shouldn’t be taken away from him. |

i think if they do that they'll have the whole bunch of ten tenths to reckon with....
it wouldn't be fair to penalise the driver for an engine manufacturer mess up. |

The team should be penalised, not the driver.

No way!!!!! rules are there to b obided by!!! and how is there any way we can prove they aren't in some way cheating?? so bruni could already have been aware of the engine stuff!!! i mean they have been off the pace since oulton.....so all of a sudden this??? no way punish the whole team. Neway he didn't drive that good a race i mean driving into people that get in his way, it isn't my idea of a good racing driver and he ain't all that people so i say punish him

Fine the team , don't punish the driver.
There will be uproar in the pits if they disallow his win. And bad feelings towards Jag. |

i agree with all the ppl saying that rules are rules. they wouldn't have the rules there if they didn't matter. true it was a rule that wasn't the drivers responsiblity but still.. rules are rules and he should lose the win

It turns out it was a false alarm anyway -let's hope Jag feel like fools now! The phrase 'sour grapes' comes to mind!

If the Jag Junior team spotted a team who had breached the regulations and just ignored it knowing a breach had occurred and they personally could gain points if the offender was thrown out....but did nothing about it. They would not be upholding there obligations to there own sponsors and drivers.
Besides that do you really think that Mr. Dutton from Fortec would not have protested if the shoe was on the other foot....Yeah Right!!!! |

But don't you wonder how Jag found out about the so called lack of paperwork?
