new to karting...chassis advice needed

hi all! im new to karting and looking to get into it. i need some help/advice on chassis as im looking to build one from bare.. as time is no object at the mo so i want a project and love karting so... the idea is to buy bare chassis and build it up to a rolling chassis then decide on engine size ect at a later date but the problem is not knowing what fits what eg (does a tonykart chassis only work/fit tonykart parts like stubaxles rear axles ect or are these parts universal with some minor adjustments? also any other advice/tips on chassis setup would be a help

thanks in advance

A very expensive way to do it, you would do better to get a whole kart or rolling chassis. Any ideas on what class you want to run or where you will race location wise?

Buy a second hand package to fit your budget and get some laps under your belt. Building your first kart may turn into a financial disaster, it's always better to buy a package and improve it IMO.

Dan Fielden has a lot of promise if they can keep it on the circuit!
I would get an MS Pro kart chasis, these engines are very low spec 4 strokes and need very little maintanance. Honda GX160 (you need two). You could pick up a second hand pro kart outfit quite cheap. Consult you local kart track and look on the market place on www.karting.co.uk

hope this helps
