New track : what says Pesca...
An interview of Henri Pescarolo by Jean-Claude Virfeu in Ouest-France this morning about the new part of the track after the dunlop tire : http://www.lemans.maville.com/
I try a - quite bad - translation for the pals who don't read french : "For the public, it's a very good thing, explains Henri Pescarolo who, for the occasion of the discovering, drove one of his Courage-Peugeot, yesterday afternoon. And that, for the motorcycles or cars spectators as well. For the pilots, it will be more technical. With a full speed descent and a blind curve. Although it will be difficult to pass over on the whole part between Dunlop esses and Tertre Rouge curve." More interresting than what I was afraid of... Last edited by Fab; 12 Mar 2002 at 06:26. |

Thanks for the info Fab.
This bit of track could be interesting for all the wrong reasons if it is difficult to pass between Dunlop and Tertre Rouge. Maybe that is how the Audis can be slowed, by getting intimate with the back of a 911 trying to pass in the new section. If it is a problem (and we won't really know until the big day itself), then it could lead to some desparate lunges at the end of the pit straight before Dunlop. Let's hope for no repeats of Boutsen in 1999. |

OK Fab, we're mates, so you can officially tell me I'm thick, but where on that link is the Henri article?
(Actually, it's an interesting link to which I shall return anyway.....) |

Not easy...
Oups, seems I forgot my duties...
The URL is : http://www.lemans.maville.com/ then you choose "sport" then "nouvelles départementales", which means news in la Sarthe... But the problem is that this paper is local and changes his news everyday... so you can't find anymore today the text about the interview of Henri by Jean-Claude Virfeu (I didn't succeed to find it 5 minutes ago)... Sorry Ayse |
