Nurburgring 2004
Sue & I went to see the gang at the Caracciola Karussell yesterday morning and they asked us to post this picture as "evidence" that they are really there.
We have taken lots of other picutres which will be posted on my website this week plus the report which will probably follow a day or so later. |

I hope you had better weather, just after we took this photo the heavens opened up.
You always get one "odd fellow". |

Yes, nice weekend all round. Saturday was more coudy and I think we missed some rain that fell close by. Sunday was a scorcher.

This was one of my occassional ventures out to the "bank", away from Startline/Pits. A great but very wet weekend, two races -- the 24hour and the Youngtimers Trophy (4 hours) had over 250 starters each. The Youngtimers included our very own Rod Birley (surely an oxymoron) whose Capri unfortunately stopped with mechanical problems approx jhalfway threough.
The other two aupport races consisted of three separate races run concurrently -- Clios, SEAT Leons and new Minis plus German Production cars, Fiesta STs ans Alfa 147s. Each group was started at about one minute interval, all poosible if you have a lap distance of over 14 miles!. Thanks to Rod and Sue Birley for making the effort to visit us on Saturday morning, our post was 14km from the Start. Special thanks to Sue for taking the group shot with ten different camersa. |

A very good weekend indeed, shame about the rain, but I'll never complain about Brands Hatch weather again*.
Tons of photos to sift through once I got back including one of Don sitting down (a rare event during that weekend), and none of Andy B sitting down since he didn't seem to stay still in one place for more than 5 mins (except when he was sleeping in the back of his car). *ummm, don't count on it. I summon the 'Orange Avenger' to engage the Pringle in battle.

Excellent weekend will be going back to the Ring next year, but i think we may have to ban the pringles.

I have just finished putting the photos on the website although the race report cannot be extended just yet as we appear to have run out of web space.

My pringles are made of steel! The 'Orange Avenger is no match for my powers, he won't be able to catch me zooming up & down that hill.
