FIM Winners Game! --> Portugal

According to the thread where we have talked about a game based in FIM GPs, here it is.

This is the first round of this game. The rules are as follows:

----------------------------------------------

Object of the game:
You have to guess the winner. You can put one, two, three or four riders as winners.

Scoring:
If you put one rider and he wins, you get 4 points.
If you put two two riders and one of them wins, you get 3 points.
In case you put 3 names and one wins, you get 2.5 points.
If you choose to put four names, and one of them wins, you get 2 points.
If you fail to guess the winner, you get 0 points.

Time limit:
Guesses can be done until one hour before the first race (125, 250 or MotoGP). Usually it will be one hour before 125 race.

Remarks:
Every FIM GP three guesses can be entered: for 125cc, 250cc and MotoGP. Those are three differents games, so you can enter only one or two categories if you like.

Appart from the three classifications (125, 250 and MotoGP), I'll put a "global" classification adding all of them.

The key of the game is to predict the winner putting the least possible numbers of candidates. But if you put too few riders, you risk getting 0 points!

Example:

Let's suppose in Jerez you had put these guesses:
125 = Simoncelli, P.Nieto, Lai (you get 2.5 points for Simoncelli)
250 = Porto, Dovizioso (you get 0 point, you failed)
MotoGP = Gibernau, Rossi (you get 3 points for Rossi)

We will do a final classification in the middle of the season. after that, we will evaluate how the game has gone, and in case it is OK, we will do another classification for the second part of the season.

I think I'll wait until after saturday qualifs to put my guess.

But just to begin with an example guess (it is not my valid one!):

MotoGP: Rossi-Gibernau
250cc: Pedrosa-Porto
125cc:Simoncelli-Pasini-Lai-Kallio

More or less the same as the last race frontrunners But I suppose my real guess will be somehow different if something happens in qualifies.

For example the years have taught me some things:

If Hayden Qualifies well, it's a bad sign - He'll crash out.
If Edwards Tops Practice (Ala: Donnington and Qatar) He'll "Stick it to the nay-sayers".
And If hopper is on pole i'd wager that Caparossi will win.

Lol!

I have another axiom: "If Barros is inspired, he will crash while leading or in top positions"

Zen knowledge, I suppose.

Well, I'm sitting with some time and a calculator, so...

Resume so far: (nominations, %nominations, probab of win)

MotoGP:
Rossi 5 100% 50%
Giber 2 40% 20%
Tamada 2 40% 20%
Hayden 1 20% 10%

250cc:
Pedrosa 5 100% 50%
Porto 4 80% 40%
Puniet 1 20% 10%

125cc:
Luthi 3 60% 23%
Kallio 3 60% 23%
Bautista 2 40% 15%
Pasini 2 40% 15%
Simoncelli 2 40% 15%
PNieto 1 20% 8%

With those data the "optimum" collective guess would be:
MotoGP: Rossi, Tamada, Gibernau
250cc: Pedrosa, Porto
125cc: Luthi, Kallio and 1 or 2 between Bautista, Pasini and Simoncelli.

The easier of them, so far, is 250cc

The benifits of post qualfying analysis has gifted theese insights into the race:
MotoGP: Sete, Barros, Edwards, Rossi
250cc: Depuniet, Porto, Pedrosa, Dovisioso
125cc: Kallio, Luthi, Simoncelli & Talamasci

I also pretend to profit from post qualif insights... but I suppose it will not help me!

MotoGP: Rossi, Gibernau, Barros (I include Alex because I'm a coward and I fear Rossi falls and Sete's shoulder husrts him. I'd like toi include Checa, but it is too coward for me!)

250cc: Pedrosa, Porto, Puniet (Randy looks strong in this one, moreover Randy was the fastest lap in Jerez)

125cc: Kallio, Simoncelli, Pasini, Luthi (Kallio and Simoncelli are my top, but 125 always has many candidates)

Nothing brilliant, I know, but I would want to take some solid points

I think it's so that MotoGP gets the "Golden timeslot" @ 1:00 clock so there is 50% less chance that something will run over time in the case of a wet race. ITs also good as I get to goto sleep after the 250 race without having to wait through the 135s (Down here they do MotoGP then the two other clases in order)

RESULTS
-------

MotoGP:
Schummy 2.5
Hazza 2

250cc:
Everyone 0 points

125cc:
x_dt 3
asha 2.5
Bleu 2
Hazza 2
Schummy 2

Combined:
Schummy 4.5
Hazza 4
x_dt 3
asha 2.5
Bleu 2
Filth 0
SALEEN 0
Wingman 0

When Faubel was leading 125cc I was "afraid" of there were three rare, largely unpredicted winners. "Luckily", Kallio won and the collective of all of us was saved of an apalling collective amount of points

Congratulations to x_dt for his/her lead in the difficult 125cc category. (S)he is also the highest score in this round. I admit I have had luck with the winners in Estoril, but I am happy to get some points for the expected disaster rounds I'm going to have Good work by Hazza, qualifying info payed well for both of us

I think this has been a roaring sucsess.

Pity about Talamasci's highside and subsequent head bang, I could've had a big break from everyone
