My dream schedule will never get reality as some circuits don't full fill safety standards and some do not exist in mentioned shape but here it goes:
Australia - Mt. Panorama South Africa - Kyalami (old layout) Italy - Monza Germany - Nürburgring Nordschleife Belgium - Spa-Francorchamps Great Britain - Silverstone (before the latest layout and without Luffield complex) USA East - Watkins Glen Canada - Mt. Tremblant USA West - Long Beach Brazil - Interlagos (no senna-s, long Infield, 7km lap) Argentinia - San Luis France - Dijon Spain - Montjuich European GP - Imola (pre 1995 layout) Japan - Suzuka China - Macau |

Every year there's at least a "Dream F1 calendar" thread, and here's another one...

why don't we have a 'your dream 2012 driver/team line up' thread, that would be more original |

If there can be an exciting spanish grand prix like we saw last week, there can be a great Abu Dhabi grand prix at Yas Marina. On that basis, and ofcourse the amazing facilities and scenery there, I think it deserves a place on the calendar. If they go through with the changes they said they might do, then this would hopefully improve the track. The middle east is also an important place to be now. (Thats only in Abu Dhabi Bernie, you no longer need Bahrain )

Selecting mostly circuits that are actually doable for 2012 (I.E. have a Grade 1 or 1T licence), with some that are more long term ambitions, here we go

Yeah, but I think Argentina deserves a race there too.

Agreed, thats why I put it on my calendar. Only problem is I couldn't think of a track suited to F1 so I went for the unrealistic option.

Australian GP - Melbourne
UAE GP - Yas Marina / Dubai Autodrome rotating Malaysian GP - Sepang Chinese GP - Shanghai French GP - Paul Ricard Monaco GP - Monte Carlo US GP - Indianpolis (Moto GP layout) Canadian GP - Montreal British GP - Silverstone Austrian GP - Red Bull Ring German GP - Hockenheim / Nurburgring rotating Belgian GP - Spa Italian GP - Monza Portuguese GP - Portimao Spanish GP - Jerez Singapore GP - Marina Bay Middle East GP - Sakhir / Losail rotating Japanese GP - Suzuka Brazilian GP - Interlagos I would add a 20th venue, either India, depending on how successful it is this year, or Brno or a rotating European GP venue i.e. Donington, Aragon, Imola, Magny-Cours, etc. I would have a strict ban on all race venues not holding tests. Therefore all testing would probably be done at Barcelona and Valencia. Last edited by p-matt; 28 May 2011 at 11:10. |

Okay I'll post mine :-
1. Australia - Mount Panorama (come on Jenson went around it. I know it is not suited to F1). 2. Malaysia - Sepang (Tilke's best circuit - amazing that he produced such a decent circuit). 3. South Africa - Kyalami (old layout - come on not the mickey mouse track it is now). 4. France - Paul Ricard(not Magnys-Bors!). 5. Monaco - Monaco(doesn't need any explanation. I accept that overtaking is nigh on impossible, but it is always great see F1 cars buzz around such a twisty track). 6. Canada - Montreal. 7. Britain - Silverstone (pre 1986 layout - I suppose I'll let them have the Woodcote chicane. Silverstone should always be about the high speed corner though. Bernie - leave it alone!). 8. Austria - Österreichring(I'll let it keep the Hella-Licht chicane). 9. Germany - Hockenheim (pre 2002 layout). 10. Italy - Monza. 11. Brazil - Interlagos(the 1990 track layout is okay for me. Still a challenge and the Senna S is tricky for some drivers with the elevation change). 12. Holland - Zandavort (I love the banking on the corners here. Plus it is possible to go around the outside of some at the 'Tarzan' corner). 13. Belgium - Spa (doesn't need any explanation does it? Perhaps restore the 'Bus Stop' chicane a bit. ) 14. Spain - Jerez(a pretty decent circuit from memory. Used to have decent races there. Much better than the current F1 Spanish circuit). 15. USA - Road America(come on! The USA's equivalent of Spa or more likely the Österreichring! Would be great to see F1 cars around there!). 16. Japan - Suzuka(the Spa of the Far East. A great circuit.) |

You know, for supposed dream calendars, the races at some of these cicuits would be absolute snoozers. Lots of tight bike racing tracks.
EDIT: at least for the US selections. |

Since the title says 2012, I won't add crazy stuff but:
Add Austin just to see if it's good. Replace Istanbul and Hungaroring with Spielberg. Alternate India and South Korea. I don't like to stay awake until 5 or 6am a five times in a row. Alternate Bahrain and Abu Dhabi, always in the early part of the season. Drop Valencia. |
