Any bike racing snappers out there?

Hey there guys

As thread title says. I am on the look out for any amateur bike racing snappers who fancy helping us out.

We are launching a new website called www.motoprospects.com

It is based around promoting and featureing the youth of today in bike racing. Things like the Redbullrookie cup, Junior Superstock etc etc.

We need pics of all kinds of racing, GP, WSBK, AMA, just to be able touse on the site as backdrops, banners etc.

Any help would be appreciated, thanks

Rob

Hello, new here and still reading the rules as to posting. I think I have this sized down enough, but not real sure. So I plead forgiveness as I try.

I don't shoot a lot of bikes, but I did snap a few at this years 2010 Walter Mitty Classic, Road Atlanta, USA.

Amateur = I'm not going to pay you...

And if that is what you want then you are going to get quality to match...

A stupid statement if ever I saw one.......that's exactly the kind of blinkered attitude we can do without......many amateurs produce some quite exceptional work, as evidenced by some of the images seen on here previously

I know a good few professionals that started off providing images for free - sometimes that's the only way to gain media access in the beginning. To suggest that you can only produce high quality images if you're being paid for it is pure nonsense......

And that's fine.......but what I was alluding to in my post was that for many aspiring photographers providing images for free is a way of getting a foot on the ladder. When I started out I was providing images in low res for free to a website who were directly responsible for getting me the media access I wanted in the first place. The images were not provided copyright free, so the photographer retained all his/her rights, and they were posted as low res images on the site, always credited to the individual, and always with a link so anyone wanting to buy high res images could conytcat the photographer direct. The website was run by enthusiasts, it didn't have a revenue stream, made no money - in fact it cost the owners money to run and maintain - it was very high quality editorially because those people involved were a) very passionate about the subject, and b) very good at what they did

Over the years I was involved there all the photographers provided images for free......and for a number of us it then led to better things, with us able to apply for media accreditation in our own right, or it gave us opportunities to do paid work for other professionals........no harm in that......both parties benefitted from the arrangement.....
