Creventic has posted a request to become a FIA international series:
http://sportscar365.com/gt/24hdubai/...series-status/ Another GT3 'golden era on the horizon' or is getting the FIA involved 'the beginning of the end'? P.S. mods: can this topic be changed into 'Creventic 24H series 2015'? |

Hmm, I wonder if they'll add some more races like the Merdaka 12 Hours and Bathurst 12 Hours? Of course, that'll result in having 8 races.

I think it has more to do with the "upgrade" of the race itself. The race is open for GT3 and has become more important. They don't need Creventic anymore.

Yup, Bathurst is actually bigger than all the Creventic races bar maybe Dubai... all the others are very much amateur only events with only single digit GT3-numbers. Which is kinda cool in its own right, as it gives the whole thing an old-school endurance racing flair with races being won by several laps and with comeback drives from mechanical or accident challenge still possible, but that isn't what Bathurst is about anymore.

They've received unternational FIA status and stuff, but get this - there's separate Ladies Cup for female drivers! Ehh One of the things that always separated motor racing from majority of other sports was that there were no separate divisions for gender... |

FIA status is the beginning of the end, we won't see 95 cars or so at the start of the Dubai 24H in 2016....
