$20 mill for 3 years! That would easily be the biggest deal in this series.

This story was about it being confirmed/announced by both parties. MN ran a story a long time ago about it going to happen.

Dont think MN IS slow BlueM. Many people 'rumoured' it a while back, including people on this site (this is where AA gets its 'news' isnt it?)- MN 'confirmed' it as biggest deal in team sport 2 weeks ago, and the official announcement looks like its followed today. Sony Ericson second deal sounds intresting. No shortage of $$$$ at TEAM VODAFONE as theyre now going to call it! No mention of todays announcement in AA BlueM - whats going on? Betta deal ends this year, Also, although with the company reported in administration could Vodafone appear earlier than planned?

Looks like it. Geez, how many phone/net sponsors are there? There's Telstra and it's internet arm Bigpond Broadband for the whole series, Dodo for WPS, PCR and HRT and now Vodafone for Triple Eight. Who's next? Optus for Super Cheap Racing?

Triple 8 will give interviews for their Vodafone friends, Telstra will still be the only one with actual race footage to use on 3G.

Intresting thing will be how V8SA handle the competition with their 'official' sponsor - ie Big Pond/Telstra. Vodafone may find there on circuit promotions a bit restricted maybe? Wasnt like that in the good old days of Mobil cars winning the Shell series

“To know you have the backing and support of global brands like Vodafone and Sony Ericsson is a huge compliment and we are really looking forward to delivering a Championship result in 2007,” said Lowndes.

Be prepared for an army of suits keeping a very close eye on next years races. One thing that the Big T doesn't like is competition. It will protects it's ground at any cost.

Good news for Triple8 - well done to all involved.

Apparently Howard got his money upfront, so he is sweet.
Roland however had to get some coin from the receivers as they are paid in installments and the last lot only covered Bathurst and Indy - he has to go back with cap in hand to see what happens for the last 3 rounds.

I'd say it's a fairly safe bet there will be 2 x LG Triple8 cars on the grid for the rest of the year ( same livery as China lat year )

Is this any different then Say Port Adelaide (Who are Vodofone sponsered) in the AFL?

Cant see that this would be an issue. Wouldn't it be anti competitive if there was?
