It's been a few events since Sureterm sponsored GA - I'd hazard a guess Sureterm weren't happy and left rather than WSR 'nick' them off GA.
ZS's should look a bit less blank then this weekend. |

Great news for WSR, who are probably more deserving of decent funding than GA. Hopefully the funding will be significant for next year in ensuring that they can get whichever car they want on the grid competitively.

WSR is a very good team, so it's welcome they're attracting extra sponsors.

Does this mean the cars will be a different colour or is it just a large sticker down the sides? Also I take it there is no rebranding of the 'Team Name' WSR have entered with...Sureterm Direct WSR?
Anyway, good news for them, I take it the plan of running a third car for WSR and a second for Honda isn't going to happen... |

MST says the session has stopped for the moment (same story for about 30 mins already)...but so far, both Thompson & Muller are sharing the front row.
Both WSR MG's on row two, and the TD Honda's share row 3. |

Discouragement for people hoping for a 3 or 4-way battle at the final weekend, but so much can happen voer 3 races. I can't wait, especially with MG on the pace and Plato well-placed to take 10th.
As for MG, it'd be too late to be worth adding a third car, unless they go into the final round with a title chance and can get a 'wild card' driver of note, perhaps someone like Rob Collard for a one-off? Last edited by BootsOntheSide; 4 Sep 2004 at 15:50. |

Finely poised for another great weekend of racing.
I hope Reid can do the business from there! The BTCC has really delivered on all-action entertainment this year. |

I can't see there being any chance of a third 3 WSR car, or another Honda. I didn't at the start of the season really. When a team 'hopes' to run extra cars, you always feel somewhat doubtful...

So, Thommo wins race 1 with Muller 5th and Reid 8th.
SEAT's tactic didn't work - heavy on ballast, Plato ended up 11th - just missing out on the vital 10th place. |

Yep, Thompson's win gives him a good position in the standings for now, but if Muller can avoid incident in the rest of the afternoon he's best placed to catch up again.
James now starting 10th will full weight will not give him an easy afternoon. VX Racing playing the game slightly with Luke Hines dropping back for pole, as the Seat's struggled with bad luck hitting Huff & Plato (in Huff's case that bad luck has a name: Kaye). Expecting Reid to be the danger cloud in race two. |

First Vauxhall win in ages! Shame that the Seats are suffering, but clever tactics by VX!

Bad blood from Brands I'd say. I thought that Alfa was well and truly going to roll over.
I think Reid should be worried if he can't win race 2 - he's only got Kaye and Hines in front of him. Hines perhaps has the best car out of the three, but Reid is the best driver. |

Thompson now leads the championship by 9 points from Muller.
Although Reid, Plato & Neal mathematically can still win it at the moment, it's almost beyond acheivable - and probably will be mathematically impossible by the end of today. |

Hines wins race two - well done to him!
Reid 2nd. Another good race and I think race three will be a cracker. |

The record really is two races without a safety car!
And two Vauxhall wins. I'm sure that'll change in race two. |

Well, good race, super battle between Turkington and Muller!
More words from Reid on Muller, "All these people that say Yvan is a gentleman, he is no gentleman on the circuit" |

I did mean race three earlier of course.
Great race by Huffy. Good action between Muller & Thompson. Though with Muller confirmed for next year now, I have visions of "don't overtake him" appearing in my mind as the conversation between Thompson and the team. Perhaps 2001 all over again, though Muller did actually lose that one! |

Tommo's a racer, and he'll want to win the title. VX can threaten him with whatever they like, the fact is he's off to the ETCC next year (rumours...) and there is nothing VX can do to stop him racing for wins (unless they give him an unfair car which I don't think the BTCC would want to see)
