Snetterton 12/13th July

Anyone at Snet over the weekend? It was real hot! But the racing was great.

Yes, we were there, one non-start and one breakdown. The highlight of the weekend was sitting on the beach at Cromer.

What races were you guys in? Our's was a 40minute-er and in that it heat was very difficult. Anyone see how that BMW of Peter Thompson got onto it's side at Russell?

We were in Formula Renault, we didn't do enough laps to get hot, I could imagine 40 minutes could be something of a killer in that weather.

It was jolly hot. Anybody know any companies that can do lightweight air conditioning systems, my car has got so much glass it is like a greenhouse ;-)

Also got sunburn (and a right earbashing) trying to fix various electrical problems which were probably also heat induced.

Didn't envy the Formula Saloons on the Saturday with all their start problems, although was a little amusing from the spectators point of view!

I was marshalling at Russell, the car seemed to go straight across the chicane very fast into the tyre wall, the car then rolled over and finished up on it's side.

Doesn't sound too good. Lucky he didn't roll I suppose. So you were at the Russell Chicane post? You would have seen me skip across the grass there twice in my battle to get the lead in Class C in the BMWs. I managed to get by him at the Esses eventually!

Wondered who that was! . Very entertaining race, started off calm, then had the manic period, then had the my tyres have gone off period, then back to the only 5 minutes to go, best get a move on manic period near the end.

Yea - sure did. Only my second race - the first at Silverstone lasted just 1.5 laps due to someone else spearing off track, then back on again into me. Anyway, was thrilled to win a very difficult race, especially in those conditions.

It was horrendous, no other way to describe it - I actually felt pretty ill at one point! But wouldn't want to come across as a bit of a "Mansell"!
