Rescue and medical(paramedic/tech) help

Hi all,
I am just wondering if any of you could potentially help me out with this one. So for the last 2 years I have worked in pre-hospital care. In that time I did a few motorsport events, mainly karting and motorcross, and got hooked. I am now looking at getting more involved in motorsport in a medical and/or rescue capacity, including potentially in a paramedic role in the future. Anyone on here got any advice or experience on how to do this,as currently drawing dead ends on google. Thanks in advance rebecca.

Profile says UK, so based on that first contact would be either MUK directly or contact (better still go along to) your local circuit/hillclimb and speak to the medics directly.

Or ACU for club bike race meetings

The ACU have an email address to contact for folks interested in being a medic

MUK have some information on the Licensed Officials registration form which says what sort of qualifications are needed plus insurance.

Another avenue could be to search for motorsport event medical services as there are a number of private organisations/companies that provide medical service cover for a host of motorsport events.

The best thing to do as has been said is to get along to a circuit and have a chat with the medics.

Dave

If you want to practice your skills then bike racing is the way to go as bike crash and riders are injured a lot more than in 4 wheeled racing.

They're also a lot easier to treat as they usually part company with what they were riding in the process of crashing.
