Jeff Gordon at Indianapolis...?
I just found this very interesting article, about Jeff Gordon, and why he should race at Indy next year. Jeff has often talked about his respect for Indy, and one quote from him does stand out:
"If you haven't won an Indy 500, you're nothing." I'm sure Jeff could land a good ride for Indy. He's already proved that he's more than handy in an open wheel car, when he tested the BMW Williams, as well as having a past history in open wheel racing. This would be also great for IMS, I mean can you imagine the media interest if he were to drive? Anyway, to read the article click here. |

why not , I mean Tony Stewart came from the IRL and has won the Nascar title and Robby Gordon often swaps cars for Indy as well.
there is no real problem with regards to talent I guess it comes down to money. would be nice to see just as a curiosity piece but I doubt it would be a permanent thing as Jeff gets paid a hell of alot more in Nascar than he would in the Indycar series , but a one off at Indy would be good to see. |

It would be a welcome run if he can get a top notch car and a motor package- A second pennzoil car or something would be keen...I hope he does.

Speaking as a guy who has follwed Jeff Gordon since his short track open-wheeled days, I would like to see it, but I wouldn't hold my breath waiting for it to happen....
His number one focus is NASCAR and that double duty is one tough load to pull with the Indy 500 and the Coca-Cola 600 in the same day... Jeff Gordon has entertained the thought more than once (allegedly), but whenever he has been asked by media here in Indy about it, he says that his #1 priority must be NASCAR and focusing his entire season effort on winning that championship.... That naswer has remained consistent over the years....and I just don't see it happening in the near future.... maybe down the road, but not in the near future.... |

porblem is Gordon would need a reliable car, as I am sure he can make a slower car competeitive, it would be great to see, and I am sur hendrick would assist him in doing so
